What do you think about knife laws

I don't have a problem with guns in the home, but I don't see much of a practical reason to walk down the street with one unless your neighborhood is REALLY bad.

I just don't want to be deprived of a quality tool because of ignorant sheep.

Doesn't matter whether you see a practical reason for it or not. The Second Amendment prohibits our government from infringing that right.
 
Everyone has the right to defend themselves and their loved one's period weather a gun or knife automatic folder fixed blade it should make no difference your self defense should not be limited to what the "government " says is acceptable it is our right y do the police carry automatic's because they're easy to use wen disoriented and in high stress situations like a car accident and your car is flipped upside down and need to cut seat belts or u just think they are cool and what about us concealed carry people in a weapons retention Situation wen one hand is occupied and need to get some steel into flesh real quick if they trust me enough to carry a gun then y can't I have an automatic knife in Oklahoma there is no blade length laws on state books but some city's do like where i live the blade can't be over 3 in and the knife can't be more then 6in overall witch is almost impossible to find a good sd knife sorry fo r the rant take care everyone

I assume he doesn't have time for correct spelling and punctuation when putting in his posts with a phone.

But yeah, laws against automatic knives are pretty stupid. Autos costs quite a bit and I don't think any crooks are going to spend $200 for the sake of stabbing someone slightly faster than a manual opening knife.

I suspect the true reason for the ban is the sheep's ignorance. An OTF Auto knife would have more of a "fear factor" because of the loud noise it makes when the blade slams out and in again.

My Super Karambit scares a few of my coworkers, but I if I were to attempt to make a straight cut through an apple with it(it would get stuck on the thick blade), then make another straight cut with my Tojiro Flash Paring knife(which they have no problem with), they're left speechless. While the Karambit looks more lethal, the paring knife I carry openly in a leather sheath proved to be more deadly because it's thinner and would penetrate deeper into the body.

It seems like people prefer appearances over function.

I'm not convinced there is enough manhood left in my country to do something about it. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm afraid not.
 
I can understand the gun laws because a gun toting punk is a threat to anyone in his line of sight, and he doesn't have to move an inch to shoot someone. A maniac with a knife must run up to his target in order to use it on them, giving everyone around an opportunity to run the hell away.

Are you talking about the ones that make it illegal to carry a weapon in a public place? Because a criminal who is willing to commit murder is worried about having a misdemeanor tacked on?

Laws regarding the restriction of knives and guns are ineffective. Forget unconstitutional (they are) they simply don't do anything except maybe give some very ignorant people a false sense of security.

I'm particularly concerned about laws against concealed carry, and yet they let you carry a gun/knife so long as it's openly so.

One case in particular was when I was at work, and I felt a tug on my knife holster on my apron, and I found a small kid trying to pull my knife out. Now given that said kid was probably no older than 6, I doubt there was any malicious intent. But given how easy it was to do, criminals wouldn't HAVE to buy weapons, they can just use their victim's own weapons against them.

So +1 for concealed carry. Our weapons won't be turned against us, and the ignorant people can stay ignorant. Can't be afraid of something you don't know is there.

You will be labeled terrorists and will be sniped at from afar.

The key is to enlighten the public about these laws and their ineffectiveness against criminals. The ignorant public is what allows these useless laws to linger.
 
I just wanted to add on 9-11 remember the terrorists used box cutters and I don't think size matters or speed when you have a bunch of idiots that choose to do bad things such as this. So then I ask myself why is government so involved in the daily lives of good Americans. I think that freedom allows us to separate the good apples from the bad apples.

Two points...

I'd say the knife bans you mention were because the lawmakers knew the voting sheep were the paranoid retards and could be led to accept such blatantly unconstitutional bullcrap. The politicians are motivated by power - not necessarily stupidity and it's a mistake to underestimate them.

If gun laws are ok (they aren't) then so are knife laws. Both are unconstitutional and both stupidly address the tool to be used rather than the criminal that uses the tool.

We owe it to our kids and grandkids to refuse to be disarmed.

I totally agree, But we also need to do something about the laws in existance now. Vote for Legislators who are pro gun, pro knife, pro self defense. We have only ourselves to blame if we keep electing liberal democrats!
 
We need to support guys like Doug Ritter. We need to work on getting laws repealed.
