has anyone ever seen the movie "Gone In Sixty Senconds"??? Nicholas Cage has to steal a 1967 Shelby GT500, that reminds me of my car but i dont have the kick ass nitrus oxide system in my car

and i think another rare car is a 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 454, one of them went at an auction of $60,000.

the rarest car ive seen was a 1970 Plymouth Superbird, or Dodge Charger Daytona, they worth $100,000 today

Quicksilver I hate to say it but I think your full of bull! There is no way that car in the pic has 880 hp or runs 11's at 140! Not with those tires, not thru that air cleaner. Why dont you post some scans of your timeslips? What was your sixty foot?

It really pisses me off when people that dont know what their talking about make posts like this! Your car is not worth anything close to $250K, especially since you have the wrong motor in it.These horsepower numbers and performance numbers your coming up with are complete bogus! If your car ran 140mph trap speed at the end of the qtr mile, you would be running low 10's or high 9's? Is this really even your car? Is it your dads car? This is the kind of stuff that gives the net a bad name. Here is a pic of a real scan from a real race at a track that one of my cars did.Lets see some proof Quicksilver, or stop blowing smoke up everyones ass.I hope no one tries to buy a rare Bali from this guy.

I knew it! Another youngster playing on the computer. How old are you, 13, 14? Alot of nice pics there for a broken camera, no scanner? How convenient! Your not fooling anyone.

Have you ever heard of a Buick Grand National? Turbo V6? Same motor came in the Indy TA, except beefed up a little.I race it about once a month, great car.
See ya!

Ok guys just relax. Seriously. No need to get pissed off at each other. I personally have never heard of a street legal car with any kind of hp over 600 (new Diablo) but that doesn't mean a whole lot 'cause I rarely read car magazines. I know some of you out there are really passionate about your cars but no need to rip each other's butts off just because you're being rubbed the wrong way. We are all mature people on this forum (which I might add is a Balisong forum, not a car forum, though those pics are awesome) and we don't need to resort to petty little comments about each other.

I really don't think any of us want our peers to lose respect for us just because we said something about someone or their car, it's not worth it.

A fellow named Dutwieler sets-up and races V-6 turbo Buicks that he can DRIVE TO THE TRACK and run 7.50's @ 185mph! They dyno @ around 800hp and he usually has to run as an exhibition racer because he's a full second or more quicker than ANY OTHER street legal car that shows up!!!!!!! Who amongst us can pull the front end 2-3 feet off of the ground when they leave the line!?!- Please raise your hand

>>This thread is drifting seriously off-topic

Yes, let's forget about the engine other than it's weight and get back to the DESIGN of the car. Like I said I drove a Sheby Mustang once, and the car does have the best Balance of any car I have ever driven. At one time, I was a certified front end mechanic, so I know a little bit about these things. IF you could design a Balisong useing the same design as that car, it Would be an awesome Balisong. What you have to look at is where Shelby put the tires of the car in relation to the body. The front of the car has a lot of weight to it, compared to the back of the car. So the front tires are closer to the front of the car, compared to the back tires being close to the back of the car. Just look at the tires as pins on a Balisong and the body of the car as if it were a blade. With my ruler here, the front tires, where there is more weight has a 1.5 ratio. Where the back of the car with less weight has a 2 ratio. Between the pins measures about 5. Current Bali's have a ratio of 1.5 on both pins, with a ratio of about 3-4 inbetween them. Jaguar goes to a ratio of 4-5 inbetween and the performance improves quite a bit. So, I wonder if you just increase the distance between the pins a little bit more, and change the ration on the back pins from a 1.5 to a 2, that should improve performance quite a bit. If it were me, I would not move the pins out at a 90 degree angle, I would move 'em out at a 45 degree angle from where they are. Make any sense? Also we could try to figure out the windflow of the car. Thanks, JohnR7

>> What about them Honda's...hehe.

A Honda would be a good example of what not to do. I drove a little Honda Sports Utitlity and the front tires were way to far forward. It made the car very unstable, as it wanted to dart to the left or the right. I was afraid to drive the thing. It just did not feel safe to me. Thanks, JohnR7

shelby cars are fast and fun to drive, but very uncomfortable for long distance road trips. but Carroll Shelbys designs are perfect. the car has complete balance, and handles excelently, but the reason why its uncomfortable is because its a racer, not a cruiser.

ok in a few posts back i was guessing at my 1/4th mile time, and i think it pissed pontiacer off ,this is the real time

1/4th mile in 12.9 sec.@ 124mph

but 0-60 is 4.4 seconds
