What is your relationship to Kizer Cutlery?

What about David Sun who uses the Kizer Cutlery BladeForums user name?

Also, how come post #1 does not have the blade length for those knives?

Kinda puts both threads he started in a different light, doesn't it?

How so?

Anyhow, awesome designs.

It'd be great if Kizer came out with some more types of models, though; a thin, delicate cutter type of knife with a thin blade, and a a beefy, heavy duty knife with a thick blade.

So you are a representative of the company promoting your knives, correct? With a Registered Member membership level.

In another thread they claim to be working at getting a brand forum. For now they're letting us pay for their publicity here. Why buy the cow when you're getting the milk free?

Well, I suppose first there would be the rules for what level of membership is needed to advertise, and then there's the whole thing of thinking they were opened by a member asking questioins, only to find out that they may have been, in fact, advertisement. I think the word I'm looking for is "disingenuous."

Always a good way to introduce yourself to prospective customers...,by being less than above board. Maybe I missed something though...been wrong before....clarification from somebody might be nice, before I make some permanent conclusion about the company.

And a quick search shows its not the first time a Kizer representative attempted to advertise without having the proper membership level....

If I were the paranoid type I would think I see possible low post count shills at work as well.

Oh, yeah, can't disagree with that.

Hi, Guys:

Looks like there are some concerns, let me address them here:

1) William is an employee at Kizer. His postings on Bladeforums, though, are through his own actions and are not by prior approval of Kizer Cutlery. For the purpose of this forum, I am the sole official representative of Kizer Cutlery. I was not aware of his postings until today through a PM. My apologies for not monitoring the forum postings closely.

2) I assume the "previous advertising" was referring to the first time we announced our presence at the forums (good bad and ugly sub-forum). Please note that at the time, our purpose was to respond to the allegations leveled against us. Both the allegations and our responses were deemed "advertising" for the respective parties and the thread was closed. After that, we were not actively participating here but only checking when we receive a question or heads-up through PMs.

3) We are working on getting a sub-forums so that all the Kizer related contents would be put into the appropriate place and we will be participating more actively going forward.

Thank you.

David

Its funny how people think these might be chinese junk. They invented the crossbow & gunpowder when Europe was rubbing 2 sticks together. Not everything they make is junk,& these knives are just as good as anyone elses....

Thank you. Execllent. I look forward to the time when: 1) you and your employees do not break the rules we all agreed to; and 2) the threads promoting your items are not disguised as questions by members not associated with your company.

There seems to always be something to create suspicion about Kizer. First it was the blade steel with some people claiming it might be one of the Chinese steels. An email to the company that makes this steel (S35VN) confirmed that Kizer is a customer. Then, how some of their knives had features that looked like they came from two knives put together, always some talk about how generic their knives look or how gaudy they look, continue to be responses about them being "Chinese junk". Always something to cast a shadow on this company.

The only thing I can tell anybody about Kizer, and I actually own one with a second one on the way, is that the knife I received is as well made and put together as my Italian, German, Taiwan, and American made knives, and I know about knives! Sorry to disappoint some posters on the Kizer threads, but so far it looks like Kizer has done an excellent job, and you may just have to accept that fact.

Goldie, thank you for your continued reviews and defense of this company, but I'm wondering if you've had a chance to put the knives through their paces or of you've just done a quick fit and finish type of exam. Without doing doing any kind of real exam, all any of us keep hearing is a judging of a book by its cover.

Until we get some clarity here, I'm closing this thread. I don't like that I have to track down every new poster on this company. I've already found another user name, but at least that one identifies as Kizer, as williamzeng should have done.

Guy's, if you do not like the knives, then don't look at the threads, not a command, just a suggestion:). It is a very simple thing to do and I do it all the time when I see a thread that talks about a brand, or certain knife I do not like.

I like a few of the designs, and especially the heavy build several have. You couple together great materials and well made knives, at a good price, then it could be a real winner. I cannot afford the knives I could a couple years ago because of a permanent disability from a sci. So I live on disability payments, and when a chance arises to buy a well made knife with quality materials at a great price, then I am going to look into the brand.

Bodog, I have only cut up a few cardboard boxes with mine. Afterwards it would still shave, but not the hair popping shave it did when I first got it. A couple of minutes on my Sharpmaker with the white stones (fine) took care of that and it had no problem with shaving. My thing is that I will probably never use any of my knives very hard, and as long as they are sharp and can cut an envelope open, cut unwanted threads from clothes, or cut an article from the newspaper, then I am fine with it. And as I said above, I like heavy builds on my rfp knife, and at least 3 of Kizer's knives have a certain appeal to me because of that.
