What do you think will last longer? G-Flex or Acraglass?

Two things to consider in addition to which epoxy is used when attaching scales to blades: First - Surface prep is as important as anything as mentioned above. I use degreaser and then denatured alcohol on blades and pins before epoxying scales to blade. I also roughen up tang and pins with a light touch of hand sanding with 400 grit. Second - The primary function of the epoxy is to waterproof the back side of the scale (the side up against the blade) - especially important with wood scales. The primary mechanism that actually holds the scale to the blade is the pins.

Regarding epoxy: I have used golf club shafting epoxy with good results for wood to 440C stainless. Ditto for Gorilla Glue - although it is quite foamy so takes some getting used to. Gorilla glue should NOT be used for micarta, G10 or carbon fiber, but is good on wood handles. There was a thread somewhere on blade forums awhile back about a strength test done on several epoxies on several different handle materials. I will try to track it down and re-post.
