What Do You Think???

Sir,

You have much more patience than I have...

Have you told him you were posting here?
Some other member may be scammed in the interim, Just saying

It isn't hard to figure out who this is by just looking at the posts made by Wicked Sharp. There is only one Dozier he has tried to buy that I can see ;)......

Wicked Sharp,

Please post who this is, He has not answered up to state his side or anything.
I would like to know who this person is so I (as well as others) can avoid this kind of crap.

Best

I really appreciate the support, but the seller can still make this right.

I really hope it is made right for you as you have done nothing wrong at all. It's just good to point out that people are not sheltered by their silence when they don't post in these threads. It looks to me like you're being given the run around but it is always nice to be wrong on occasions like this. :)

The United States Postal Service will take NO ACTION OTHER THAN TRACING A MONEY ORDER UNTIL SIXTY (60) DAYS FROM THE ISSUE DATE / straight from the postmaster's lips. I hope this will be over well before sixty days is up. Thanks.

Received a reply from the seller today. This is FAR from being resolved, but the seller has, at least, re-established an open line of communication. I am still holding hope that the USPS WILL NOT FAIL!!!

When the USPS told you the second street # the seller gave didn't exist,I'm calling bravo sierra on the seller!!! Tell this guy to ship your knife pronto!!! From your first post you stated that your money order was scanned as delivered ? I was a mail carrier over 35 years and it was common to get a piece of mail for a customer with a screwed up address. The carrier would normally know the name and deliver to the correct address. If not it would be scanned as no such number and returned to sender. You completed your obligation as a buyer.

The postal service is STILL trying to "help" with this situation. Apparently, no one can tell exactly where the payment is physically located at this moment; however, the seller has agreed to ship me the knife tomorrow. We shall see. I will continue to provide updates as I receive new information. And..., YES..., I DID DOUBLE CHECK MY ADDRESS BEFORE I SENT IT TO THE SELLER:)

I have had PMOs that went lost in the mail - I was able to cancel the un-cashed PMO and the PO issued me a new one for a small fee.

You can do that and then just make the new one out to you, cash it and be done.

I would probably not deal further with the seller unless, as you said, you get the knife in hand first.

Wait. Of course the Postal Service can't cancel the MO on your word. It has to be the seller cancelling it at the post office he bought it.

The first rule of buying, selling, and trading on Bladeforums is ... don't deal with a flake. If the other party is not reliable, you've bought yourself a problem.

If he sent you the knife, it should be arriving soon. Did he provide tracking information? Was that tracking number right? If not, PLEASE POST HIS NAME SO NO ONE ELSE GETS DEFRAUDED.

The seller does not buy the pmo - it is the buyer - who is sending the funds.

I have done this when I sent money to a friend in India and the letter never arrived.

I kept my receipt and it was no big deal - they could check immediately and could tell the original had never been cashed.

Thanks to all for the great comments / suggestions. Seller provided a tracking number, today, for the knife. Still no official word on the money order; however, the seller said he ran into the mailman. And the mailman advised that the lost payment should be on it's way back to me. Patience......., Patience.:)

Knife arrived today. Postal Service still classifies the money order as "delivered". If I get the money order back..., I will resend it to the seller.

I'm glad you're not out the knife Wicked, but something that has kept me out of trouble over the years when buying goods from forum members, and especially if they're new and/or I'm new, I'll PM the seller and ask for a address, phone number, and of course his full name. Second, I Google Earth the address to make sure it's not a burned out 10 square block section of the South Bronx. Third, I call the seller, and sort out the payment details to make sure I'm dealing with a real person. Lastly, I pay only using USPS MO's, with delivery confirmation and signature required for delivery, or have a certified bank check stamped for deposit only to make sure the check isn't cashed by some sleazeoid who stole the check. My bank will never accept a check from an individual for cashing if it is stamped "FOR DEPOSIT ONLY".

I have one question, how is it that the second address provided is non existent, and what's up with the seller providing two bad addy's????

Subsequent to the information I received from the PO in Los Angeles, the seller sent me an email CONFIRMING the second address (actually, TWO emails). I'm not sure, at this point, if the postal service can be trusted or not. I have NEVER, EVER had anything like this happen. By the way..., the postal service still indicates that the payment was delivered on December 5th. THANKS.

The post office (should ) be able to find out the employee I.D. recorded on the scanner for that delivery. That's who they need to ask. I say should because my info is from over five years ago.

GOOD NEWS!!! The money order was in my PO box this evening after work. It had three return- to- sender stamps on it. According to the local postmaster..., it went from Georgia to Los Angeles, back to Georgia, back to Los Angeles, and, FINALLY BACK TO GEORGIA. The system was SLOW..., but it DID WORK!!! I will now return the money order to the CORRECT ADDRESS (VERIFIED AND CONFIRMED BY THE SELLER), and this episode may FINALLY BE OVER!!! THANKS TO ALL FOR THE HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS AND COMMENTS.
