What do you think?

So basically you're a satisfied customer who can let us know the name of the dealer so we can perform our own business with him...;)

By the tone of his email and the need for this board to make him do the right thing I seriously doubt it :(
A shame thou, since we're all knife nuts and buying one from a dealer should be a win-win situation for both parties involved on the transaction.

On a second note, is good to see that you don't want to reveal the name after getting things worked out :)

Maybe, I should have asked him up front; "will you take it back and pay shipping and fees if it's obviously defected?"

He said he fired it once.

It was impossible to fire it with the flat of your thumb.

You had to dig in your thumb nail and press excessively hard.

He shouldn't have shipped this knife, but it was very good looking. :(

I will let you know if he says anything when he gets it Tuesday.

Well, this MORON does own a business; I grind machine tools for machine shops, if I let tools out of my shop in any condition other than perfect, my business, and my reputation goes down the toilet. that will NEVER happen!

This MORON wants to know what the dealers name is, so I can be sure to never send him any of that money I earn doing right by my customers THE FIRST TIME, EVERY TIME!

What a jerk.

He obviously wasnt going to make it right till he saw this forum. Or at least you didnt think he would. So use the collective power of the forum to get the situation fixed but never mind the next guy who might deal with this moron? Doesnt sound right.

So we are morons huh? Well I might not know that much about running a business, But I do know how to spending darn near 60% of our income on knives as of late. And if a seller pulls something like this with me, it’s obvious that he is not going to receive any repeat business from me. So who's the moron here??

I say you out him anyway :D

I feel your pain RGRAY ! :(

There are certain dealers that won't remove a knife from it's box and wrapping and inspect it for defects. Simply, some buyers don't want anyone but them opening the bag.

But. . .in my book. . .that matters not !

If there are defects. . .on or with a knife. . .the dealer/maker should suck up all the costs !

On the other hand. . .if someone is returning a knife just cuz they don't like it. . .then the buyer is responsible for return costs.

I've received several knives from dealers & makers. . .and there were defects or the knife was plain a$$ dull. The dealer or maker wanted me to pay for return costs.

That's down and out BS !

Again. . .feel your pain. I'm currently going through some crap with a knife maker and knife accessories maker (2 separate issues). I have specific dates marked on my calander. If the knife maker and knife accessories maker don't make good on their end by those specific dates. . .I'm gonna toss their junk on the street and let them dance !

Personally, I think that you should post their name.

I had a dealer on Ebay make a mistake and send me the wrong Doctor pattern.I emailed him and told him I wanted him to reimburse me for shipping.Big deal $3.50. Still have not received it. I purchased no less than 40 knives from the man. NEVER AGAIN. Screw him. Lots of people that sell Case knives out there.

Dave, the guys a jerk; not a thief.

He just disagreed with us that he should be responsible to see that the knife had no problems before he shipped it and if it does; he should pay for his mistake.

Maybe now he's learned; let's hope so. :)

Hi Rick,
I can see your point about naming him and respect that.I know you dont want to hurt his business.
I just cant understand his view that the customer should get stuck with postage and paypal costs because a product HE shipped was defective.
Oh well, all I can really say is try to make sure you only deal with dealers you have confidence in from now on, there's a good amount of them out there.

There's a hundred dealers out there who AREN'T jerks. No reason to deal with someone who is. I'd also like to know who he is, so I can make sure to take my business elsewhere.
