The NC Knife Knuts have some ideas about what to use! The following pictures are from the lunch break at Bubba's BBQ during the Charlotte Gun and Knife show today.

Here's another view (with Bobby in front of the window).

You'll notice that all the tables near us were unoccupied. I wonder why

Looks like you boys do like your folders ....shheeesh... and that was just lunchtime....no telling what your pockets were full of when you finally left after the afternoon foray. Looks like it was a grand day. : )

So, just how long did it take Dexter to get all of those out of his pockets ?

If these pics don't make you want to move to NC, I don't know what will

Good food, good friends, and great blades - what more can a knifenut ask for??

You ain't seen nothin' yet - this was a mere rehearsal for the Blade Show BF dinner. LOL

Damn, that's a LOT of steel!

BBQ & knives, two of my favorite things.

Wish I was there with you guys.

Stay sharp!

WOW! We had such a good time today. Lunch lasted almost two hours! Luckily, the owner of the BBQ joint is used to our displays of sharp objects every few months.

By the end of the day, about a half-dozen knives had changed hands, as well as a couple of guns. One BM 730S had four different owners throughout the day! LOL I don't know what got into us, but it sure was fun. No matter whether we end up getting any new toys or not, the getting together of a bunch of knife knuts makes for a great day.

None of us were hurting for knives.

Those in the pics aren't even all that we had with us! There were about 12 Kit Carson folders, two Simonich Talonite Cetans, a couple of Elishewitz Diablos, an Etzler pearl and damascus piece, a Ken Onion Speed Safe (that was Dex's. It was also my personal favorite), a Millennium Apogee, a Michael J. Smith folder, a few Corduroy and Recupero modified pieces, a Speedtech, a few Terzuola customs, a Dozier, wood-inlayed and decorated Sebenza's, Talonite Carnivores, GenO Denning FB's, Jones Brothers FB's, Sifus, Balisongs, OTF Daltons, Microtechs, Cases, and even a few production pieces that have yet to hit the retailers. Of course, there were many Spydercos, Benchmades, and others. WOW!!!

Holy Cow Batman! Looks like the NC Knifenuts need to develop a ICE CUBED - Innovative Cutting Edge Carrier for Ubiquitious Blades and Edged Devices.

Looks like everyone was having a great time.

OK, I'm jealous, why didn't you just caption the pictures "nyah nyah nyah"?

Llamedos - the knife Kelly is referring to is my custom Avalanche with a 440C blade, ti bolsters, and carbon fiber scales. I sent it back to Ken a few months ago and asked if he could drill some holes in the handle, blade, and clip to dress it up. It's a good looking knife to start with but with those holes in it, it makes it even more attractive. I sent an image of my custom along with the Kershaw production version to KCI and they put it up here: http://www.knifecenter.com/knifecenter/kershaw/onion2.html

Hi Senator - do you remember my thread asking about blade shows, when I said that I should be coming over from the UK.

You recommended staying at the Hampton Inn. I've checked out the webpage and it looks ideal. I have a couple of questions though:

  1. Is it very far from where the Blade show is being held ? How would I get to it, taxi, walk etc... ?
  2. When do you reckon I need to book by, so that they definately have a room available ? Or should I just turn up and try to check-in ? [/list=a]

I would be grateful if you could answer any of these questions.

    Thanks

    JD
