What do you use your EDC for?

Point being: there is absolutely no reason, other than desire, to have as many knives as I have/know as much about them as I do
And that's a good enough reason IMO. Part of living in a free society means not having to justify every little thing you do. I'm a college student, I don't need a pocket knife very often, except for small things like opening packages and boxes etc. There are some days when I don't use a knife at all, and the majority of days I could probably get by with just a little keychain sized SAK. But I like carrying a larger one hand opening folder, so I do.

Amen, I dont even live in a 'free society' and every day, I carry.

I EDC a full size Manix most of the time in RF pocket. LF pocket is a full size Chinook II. As a matter of fact, before coming here this morning I was using the Manix to cut the tips off of a few dozen Federal Automatch .22LR rounds. The resulting flat point does not affect accuracy much and the pesky tree rats really fly off their perches when hit by them. :D:D
The edge holds up very well to this kind of work. Great stuff, that S30V!

I use my EDC several times a day for all sorts of cutting tasks. I usually carry a primary EDC, and a secondary EDC. The secondary is usually smaller than the primary and gets used around Sheeple (That's right, I said it!), or lent out (rarely). Like others have stated, I can't imagine not carrying a knife; I literally feel naked, and helpless without a knife on my person. It drives my Wife nuts, until she needs something cut.

I use my Pacific Salt (SE) for rope, cardboard, tape, and shrink wrap (I hate cutting that stuff) at work, and paper, food packages, food, and whatever else I feel like cutting whenever I'm anywhere but work. Around here, the LEO will (most likely) arrest you for any knife carry if you're a teenager or in your twenties (I'm 18). Luckily, I work a 3rd-shift job, so I'm never out walking around town anymore.

Yesterday, at a 7-11, I whipped out my Buck 307 to cut a straw for my coffee - ya, I use a straw for my store bought coffee. The guy behind the counter stopped what he was doing to watch. Later in the day I used the same knife to gut and clean the quail I killed.

Very true, my friend.

I work as a landscaper. Mostly cutting grass and yard cleaning. Anyway my Salt 1 SE gets plenty of daily use.
Boxes
Bags of fertilzer/seed/mulch
Twine
Plastic banding straps
Sod
Small branches
Diggin weeds out of the ground
Tie down rope hemp and nylon
All the crap that I buy that is overly encased in plastic.
Feed bags

Termite,
when Noshtero says chips - maybe you understand the term potato crisps better...?
That's how i read it anyway...

My EDC is Swiss army knife and a linerlock folder- Doxier thorn
the sak will do it all, but the Thorn is so fast and slick...
click it's open, and diddle, it's closed.

I have short fingernails so everything i use an EDC for, i see other people using fingernails, teeth and car keys for.

My way is more fun.
I also get a huge sense of satisfaction too when somebody cracks their teeth or breaks off their car key doing something stupid.
(My knives look really cheap then, especially witha thousand dollar dental crown or one of those $100 security keys)
It only took one staple under the fingernail before i found a better way...

I work in a shipyard. Normally rotate for edc a minimanix or a greco falcon or a paramilly. They see some use for: opening boxes, cutting twine, zip ties, heaving lines, fire hoses, pick paper staples and clean my finger nails when I'm really bored......
