Never seen a thread about this. I thought it might be interesting.
I myself wear jeans, short sleeve t-shirt, denim apron (leather one when forging or heat treat).
Short leather boots sometimes (and always when forging or heat treat) but more often than not Crocs. :(

How about you? What do you wear? Feel free to elaborate if there is a special reason why.

Well not much different Patrice. Blue jeans, T shirt, heavy leather shoes with safety toes, (my wife calls them Mickey Mouse Shoes) and a heavy plastic apron. Frank

jeans, t shirt and either some old sneakers or some steel toed boots. If it gets cold i'll throw on a hoodie

lots of spf 30 sun screen ever since i put my grinder on a cart and roll it out in the driveway!

You guys are funny. Crocs.?...

I wear work attire, but that is because I have been "working" in my shop since I was 5. I wear jeans and steel toe boots. Everything else depends on how I feel that day.

Patrice, I would love to buy one of your factory second blades. Let me know when you have one, and I'll buy.

It depends mostly on the weather. My shop is insulated fairly well but only has a small heater. There were many days this winter when I could only work for an hour or two before my hands got too cold to be any good.

One thing that's constant is actual shoes or boots. I don't like the idea of sparks or a hot bar landing on my lil footsies

Fall/Winter: Carhartt jeans, a T-shirt, sweat-shirt, and shoes.

Spring/Summer: Speed-O, Italian dinner shirt, and barefoot. ;) :D

I usualy have my carhart coverals on with a tshirt and boots.
Nick we don't need pics at least of your summer attire:eek:.

Bob

Jeans, boots for most of the year, sneakers in the hot part of summer, and a cotton pullover so I dont have dust all over me when I go back in the house.

Jeans, t Shirt, , workboots or old sneakers,
Leather/Cordura Apron

Fall/Winter: Carhartt jeans, a T-shirt, sweat-shirt, and shoes.

Spring/Summer: Speed-O, Italian dinner shirt, and barefoot. ;) :D

Priceless!!

jeans, shirt, sneakers and a denim woodturners apron. Also i always wear a welders cap when i grind because i hate it when the sparks come off the top of the grinder and land where my hair used to be.

Jeans, tshirt, boots (steeltoe sometimes) powered full face respirator when grinding, safety glasses when doing everything else, leather apron and cowboy hat when forging. Blue disposable nitrile gloves when machining (the really thin ones that tear if they get caught on anything but are great protection from oil and etchants)

At the forge: Jeans, leather shoes, natural fiber shirt, safety glasses, leather welding apron and a welding glove on my left hand.

In the shop: shorts, t-shirt, crocs or some other slip on shoe, I don't use power tools except a drill so I don't need protection from sparks.... don't weld in crocs!

I don't have a shop... but when working on knives I wear whatever I was wearing before I started working on knives (much to my wife's dismay). If I plan to do dirty work, like a lot of handle sanding, I put on a denim apron.

In addition to what's already been said, I'll add a baseball cap when belt grinding, in hopes of keeping some dust out of my hair and maybe limiting the slap if a belt breaks.

A respirator!!!!Pretty much the same. I have a seperate set of clothes for the shop. Jeans, t-shirt/jacket...14 degrees this morning, leather steel toes. For forging i wear a magnesium casting jacket that is fireproof to 1500 degrees, leather welding gloves and a tinted full face mask.
And if you guys don't hear from me all summer, It's because i am at Nick's watching the speedo forging!!!!
