What does everyone else do when "waiting patiently" for a new knife?

I browse the forums looking for the next thing to buy, call my daughter at home to see if a package arrived today, check my bank statement to see if a knife purchase went through, check my email for shipment notifications... when not at work I practice building fires with my firesteels (they frown on that in my cubicle at work ).

I didn't realize how bad my problem was, until I started entering my knives into a spreadsheet, and found that within the first year I started hanging around these forums, I added around 55 blades, that averages more than one a week  some as inexpensive as a $7 machete, some not-so-inexpensive :D . And that doesn't include all the firesteels, strikers, etc purchased as a result of the influence here!

Yeah, we're a support group alright, supporting each other's justifications for why we need that next knife! :) .

LOL

Just Say No!

The problem is, the question was
"Is there any reason I shouldn't order another Izula/HEST/Junglas...?"

:D

I look at more knives and talk myself out of or into ordering them. I spend more time on the forums (especially the Trade and for sale forums). I also tinker with knives I already have (touch up an edge, clean, lubricate the pivots etc.). Occasionally, I will take an old carbon steel butcher knife into the garage and with a dremel tool and belt sander try to pretend like I know what I am doing.:D

This is a problem I wish I had, but some guy named Murphy keeps preventing me from having the experience.

Going nuts. I ordered a Izula from a dealer who is less than 100 miles away and was excited about getting it the next day and nothing showed up. Well I figured I would get it yesterday for sure and nothing. Placed a phone call and found out he only showed one and couldn't find it. Bummer. He has some on the way and will ship as soon as they get there. Patience is something I wish I had. Oh well, just a few more days won't kill me.

I hear you gmgreen. I ordered annother Izula and an RC-3 from kinfecenter, along with some paracord and a Spydie Perrin Street Beat. The ESEE stuff is on backorder for the last 14 days. I'm dyin' here. lol
