What does Jerry Busse edc?

Just a guess...
Mr. Busse carries the screams of a million trees, the memories of at least hundreds of thousands of quality blades being produced, and the secret formula for INFI in his mind.
He also carries a 6 pack of Carling Black Label and a heavy snifter of J.W.B.
He also carries the title "Bossman", the "burden" of being the head honcho of the most badass knife company in the world, and he's also the coolest "gopher" I've ever heard of. (for his penchant for burying knives in the middle of BFE for some lucky hog to decipher the clues and dig em up!)
As for knives - I bet he carries some "apprentice blade" one of his employees messed up real good. Classic case of the cobbler having no shoes... Or, maybe if he has to be presentable, a satin jack and a Paul's hatchet. Or maybe an INFI Ratmandu of some type?
We have to keep in mind that the man has access to stuff that would make us crap our shorts... So, what is it Boss?

I had high hopes for Jerry to get on here and enlighten us. He is after all a busy man with his fingers in many many pies. Thanks for making knives to bet your life on.

I hear jerry once had an Altercation with wolverine ,
the legend goes wolverine swiped at jerry and in a total defensive maneuver jerry swung an original 1/300 removing one of wolverines claws , jerry then quickly scooped up the claw as a completely awe struck wolverine stood there in shock and jerry fled to saftey , it is my Understanding that jerry then completed assembly of the very first Busse folder ..
That's how the legend goes anyways

The other legend involved captain Americas shield , but I have been sworn to secrecy on that story

Jerry please tell me your EDC kit includes the Kimber that is black with Hard chrome accents, on occasion???

I've seen pics of Jerry with a gi 1911, after the the Kimbers I've owned, you couldn't give me another. They are more MIM than Taurus nowadays... It's pretty depressing, they used to be great in the 90s.....

Iv heard mixed things on kimber, namely the 3 inch barrels have most of the malfunctions but I could be wrong. Two friends have them and love them. Which ones do you own breavis?

An custom 2, tl/rle the one you can't find a holster for, grand raptor ultra. Decent enough, just not for what they cost.

Sti Spartan will out shoot most guns up to 2k. It's what Springfield based the range officer on, they just missed the Mark on the hand fitting. My Spartan( long since gone) what the best 1911 for the money until finding the para pro custom 14.45.

Cdnn had they for 950 shipped. This is a 1300 dollar gun...

Not to hijack the tread but how manny Kimber MIMs have you seeing to fail. I have a gold combat II the one with a bushing. That pistol is a tack driver and 100% reliable with everything that I have used for more than 10,000 rounds thru 2 sets of springs. I think that there are manufacturing standards that will make any tool more or less reliable even if they are injected parts. I do not think that the MIM issue is a Fib because there are poor manufacturers out there that do substandard MIM parts but they can be manufactured to be reliable

at three different local shops that is three separate Kimber authorized dealers decided in the same six month. To stop selling them and stop being retailers all together because an average of one and five had to go back so that you got the 4 out of 5 is likely but one out of five is not anything I want to bet my life on and I'm pretty sure its not anything you want to bet your life on either.

I didn't say that every Kimber is Crap, nor did I say that sti or para never made a bad gun. I had a para warthog p10 that stove piped every 3rd round. Those 3 inch guns don't really cycle or feed 100% reliable, as another person mentioned. I figured the people who love them would get frustrated.

Secondly, if you knew the story of kimber you would know that Kimber used to buy all their internal parts from Smith and Wesson and they decided that they didn't want to do that anymore they wanted to make them on their own and guns started to fail at a surprising rate so then they went back to buying them from Smith and Wesson and now they arent crap anymore. now they may even be outsourced from cylinder and slide or maybe even Caspian I don't think there's Smith and Wesson anymore since they brought out the E series.

If I hurt your feelings I apologize, I've owned 3500 dollar sti 2011 bobtailed customs, and bottom of the barrel 1911 GIs and never felt like I got less than I payed for, except with my Kimbers.

let's try not to take this personal I'm not talking about anybody's family this is a gun, a tool

Actually no feelings hurt I appreciate your point here is Miami kimbers do not sell like smith and glocks they sell well. Down here we have a some of the largest gun dealers in the country. They still retail Kimber. As I understand the solo is an issue and some of the 3" models show more problems. But also they explain that people that have no business owning a 3" 45 buy this guns and because of lack of experience create their own malfunctions. I know that most 1911 makers have had problem pistols and I am not a Kimber fanboy. But I know that their issue of malfunctions is not because MIM parts. That was my only point. That just because a part is manufactured using that process is necessarily substandard for a firearm. In fact there are new model pistols that are considered very reliable that have parts. Glocks and some Smith and seasons have MIM parts and they are considered one of the most reliable guns.

In conclusion I respect your view about Kimber as it is based by your experience. I have not have that experience. But my point was about MIM parts made by a quality manufacturer.

Not to derail the thread, but I know for a fact that S&W uses quite a bit of mim parts because my father inlaw works for S&W and the parts they engineer for mim is his gig. Metal injection molding is still in its infancy as a technology in this country, and it's only going to get better and become more ubiquitous according to said father inlaw. He seems to think theres is quite the future in mim.

Mim can be just as good, 10 years ago this wasn't the case. I'm for anything that make guns cost less without sacrificing reliability.

I haven't played with the 1911s yet. Been busy with my plastic guns and my Sigs. When I do however, I have settled on either an STI or a Dan Wesson Valor.

Sti uses a tri glide ball bearing system on their triggers, I've polished all my trigger parts to 2000 grit and still can't beat the slippery feeling right out of the box on most sti guns with the tri glide system. They all have some creep, for most of the safeties to function properly there needs to be some creep. When I time my triggers to 0 creep the grip safety never works, these are trigger for 3 gun use so who cares, though I wouldn't let my wife carry those around on a daily basis
