Well, it's taking it's sweet time to get here, too. It was 'accepted' by USPS Monday - left Portland, OR, finally, Friday (That was some snow!).
No mention of the vendor has been made thus far - I don't know if it is appropriate here - or before I receive the knife. At this point, as I have not been advised otherwise, I am expecting a new 1725CB with a bag and box, a la the one my wife had her brother bought me earlier. I guess the real aggravation is that I will have paid more for whatever it is that I am getting, too, than she did! I am not sure I wanted two of the same knives, either - not a sellor problem there, of course.
I guess I 'assumed', as potentially dangerous as that may be, that the 'X X X X' referred to the different G10 scales - the pictured one looks like natural G10 with the JYD 'pattern' on it, rather than the grippy plain black G10 others had on their sites - and like the one I got from my wife. It sounds like I was mislead. I have had a few contacts with the seller over when it shipped and needing a tracking number, which initially was stated as an incomplete number. No mention was made of the knife's not being a factory fresh new product was made, although, at least to my eye, the original ad did imply it was as it said 'new'.
So, Kershaw sells buckets of rejects locally up there in OR - and folks can buy them up and resell them on evil-bay. Nice. I love entrepreneurship. I did just see some so-marked Damascus Shallots - at a reduced price and clearly indicated as 'blems' - that's a fair site and offering - my purchase really wasn't.
Interesting about the meaning of 'X X X X' elsewhere... here, I'd wonder if it was a shirt size way too big for even me! Merry Christmas - and have a Happy New YYear, everyone!
