I obviously collect knives, but I have a few other hobbies that aren't cheap. That's why I'm so glad I love to ride my bicycle, hike and kayak. Those are pretty inexpensive, in fact most days they are just about free.

Back on topic: My username is my initials followed by my 2-digit birth year.
 
I'm a Viking at heart, but God knows I'm just a tamed Dad trying to make ends meet. People call me Bill. Thus, Billy the Hungry. Because I can always eat. 😂

I live in a rainy part of the world (Oregon).

I've had German Shepherd Dogs since I was in my 20s.

.308 is my favorite caliber.

Also, "raindogs" is slang though unrelated as I'm not homeless. It was also a fine Tom Waits album.

The truth is that I've been on so many forums since the 90s that I settled on one username that was highly unlikely to be registered.
 
My username was supposed to be a clever “phonetic twist” which has clearly failed miserably …
‘Ed G’ was meant to read “Edgy”
But the joke’s on me because 10+ years later most folks are still calling me Ed … !

BA is Beth Ann. Short for Elizabeth Ann. I hated when my relatives called me Beth Ann. I would say please call me Beth. I gave up caring and or complaining about it when I was in high school. Fast forward, graduated college, my two best friends and other friends were there and all my relatives from Ohio, Texas, Louisiana, New England where I grew up all called me Beth Ann at the graduation party at my parents house. Congrats cards all labeled with Beth Ann.

Had to tell my friends of my woe being called Beth Ann as they were laughing at it. I said I don’t care anymore. We left the party and I got razzed the whole way back to my apartment. Stopped to get adult drinks.

No drinking and driving. Got to my apartment. My buddies still teasing me. My best friend started called me BA, having no idea that BA could mean badass. Explaining to her the ramifications of that nickname.

She said something like I would walk a dark alley behind you. So BA stuck.

I have been called Zeep, which a play on my last name and a few other nicknames.

Colt comes from my favorite uncle who called me Beth the rampart colt; Taught me gun safety and how to shoot, knife safety and how to sharpen. He gave me a Colt Pocket M1903

Colt really because I always have to be doing something.
