What does your forum handle mean?

I heard alot of good things about Iron City Beer so I decided to take that as my handle.... or maybe I have drank alot of Iron City Beer and my friend gave me that name???

dunno

well,,lets see.

I have been in the radio repair business for about 100 years now (actually 10,,but it seems like 100), I repair 10 meter Amateur radios (HAM),, as well as CB radios, amplifiers, ect.

one of the more popular brands of radios used as CB (most of my clientel are Truckers that use them on the CB band), is actually a Amateur 10 meter Ham rig's called the Galaxy and the Connex,, it has always been one of my favorites and it is the one's that I specialise in servicing and modifying.. both these brands which (internally) are almost identical.

well,,,i started using that name "Galaxy" and the fact that i am an electronics "tech", together to come up with GALAXYTECH, I have used it for many years now across the web, so i figured it would be a good title name for here also.

It's been my favorite day of the year ever since I was a wee lad. Summer Solstice, June 26, the longest day of the year.

Situation Normal All F*cked Up

Classic answer to a difficult situation. Seems to be the norm with some of the jobs that I've had. ;)

When I purchased some land with my first wife in southern Indiana, an older lady called us "flatlanders", since we were from central Indiana. Lost the land and an original Mean Street in the divorce. Sure do miss that knife;)

When my daughter was young she liked playing with those little toy trucks with the huge tires called "stompers". At that time I was building a 1957 Chevy 4X4 pickup on a shortened 1974 3/4 ton frame with suspension kit, oversize tires and a 375 horse 396 motor. She called it "Daddy`s Stomper " It`s something I will never forget.

it's just my last name spelled backwards. I've been using it for years. I thought it sounded coolmany moons ago, so it stuck. John

about 70 years ago my father started a chain of gasoline stations here in Idaho. he did well with his marketing concept. he pretty much "skunked" all the competition in these parts. his friends called him a stinker. needing a mascot and having a good scent of humor, he chose a Skunk for his mascot.
when he died in 1983 my younger brother and i continued to expand on the seed he planted.
so i was just another "skunk off the old block" or idaskunk, idahog....
here's the last one we built and if you look close you will see the "Skunk"
