Fireprez,

Too bad about your Mom and knives. She's got the most important part right though.

Just put a : (colon) and a ) (right parenthesis) together to get a smiley.

Hi All,
My dear Mum gave me my first new knife for my birthday (just hand-me-downs before that) about the same time that Korea was heating up. She never said much about it as the pile got bigger over the years. It hasn't been all that many years that all this neat stuff has been around.

She also bought me my first revolver for Christmas, I don't remember the year, but she created much fear in the guy that sold it to her, 'cuz she wanted to test it out before she bought it.....she put all 9 shots in the X-ring at twenty-five yards. That woman was hell-on-wheels with a handgun.

I'm 52 and my mom is still around so I better be careful here -

You may know that I am a martial arts pacifist but you may not know that I am a long-hair to boot. I cut my hair for my Sensei and I cut my hair for my Mom but I still don't tell her about my knives!!!

My folks were rasied on farms during the depression. They don`t even comment on the number. It`s just one of his collections.

My mom is alright, as long as she does not know the 'REAL' price! She will not understand why anyone would pay that much for a piece of steel. To her its just a cutting tool, nothing more. To us, is a passion....

My mum was around my dad's knives all her life. She has always been exposed to and used hunting and fishing knives. She likes most of mine but does shy away from some of the more, ah, 'exotic' ones, shall we say. Of course at 80 she isn't into as much daily use of knives other than kitchen ones. But she does carry a Kershaw Anfibion in her purse that I gave her
