Without being biased, you can't go wrong with the big names in the price range your at. It comes down to preferences. Cold steel has a strong lock and cts-xhp which is a fantastic steel. Benchmades are great knives. Awesome warranty. The axis lock keeps the users hands away from the blade path. It's stong and smooth in operation. Also great steel choices.
Warning strong biased ahead.
The Endura and Delica series are my favorite folding knives of all time.
Perfect weight, perfect amount of traction, fast, one hand opening, pocket clip keeps knife snug in pocket. VG10 my favorite steel. Highly corrosion resistant, moderate edge holing, accepts a keen edge without a stubborn burr. Touch's up quick on house hold items like cardboard strops and paper for that razor edge on the go.
It's incredible slim, the grn contours at the edge giving a comfortable grip yet feels solid and lightweight with the skeletonized stainless liners.
There is an unsharpened ricasso that aid is closing the blade all cool like by dropping the blade when depressing the lock without cutting your index finger. Then moving fingers to safely close the blade with one hand.
I've taken my Delicas and endura everywhere. From surfing to swift water Rescue training. To camping, hiking, bushcrafting,
Even social events or dark alley ways. My favorite pocket knife of all time.
I don't need the world most unbreakable folding knife. I just need something convenient, carries well, stainless, and able to get razor sharp quick.
