What EDC light goes into your pocket most?

Olight seems to be cornering the market. I have one of their AAA lights in my pocket right now and it's a good little performer but I'm not a fan of their button models. They come on too easily in my pocket.

I'm a novice to the flashlight world. Jetbeam looks good but doesn't have much of an online presence. I'm not sure what other brands are current and which are dinosaurs.

I'm not looking for the brightest or anything like that. Just a dependable EDC light that offers a great value to performance. What would you suggest?

Thanks!

The one on my keychain, a titanium IllumineX-1. Weighs 9 grams, if memory serves; two good modes and a simple twist interface; nice neutral white beam. It's been dropped many times and hasn't shown any real signs of wear. It's a great little light.

When I know I'll need something more capable, I pocket my ZebraLight sc62w. (That model was recently discontinued and replaced with the sc63w.)

Value to features and performance, I'll always recommend people to take a look at Zebralight.

The SC62w I have is probably the most impressive unmodified light for it's size I've ever handled. However, my daily carry pretty much maintains being a SC52w due to the smaller size and being more flexible than the SC6* series meaning I carry it with a 14500 li-ion primary and keep a spare 14500 and AA Eneloop in my bag. If I'm somewhere I don't have my work bag with me and I run out of fuel, I can go in any gas station and find AA batteries, lithium or alkaline if I have to, to get me home. That's one of the major hurdles for me to overcome in having a 18650 light as my primary is finding spares out in the real world. If they'd support 2 CR123s also, it'd be slightly easier for me to swallow.

I'm still on the fence about Zebralight starting to seemingly move away from their "flex fuel" AA lights in favor of maximum 2V drivers that lose the turbo mode but provide greater efficiency on Eneloops. I just like having options.

I do have a Vinh modded Lumintop Tool that is an awesome light. Love the tiny size and clicky, but again just tough for me to carry since it only supports 10440 (no AAA option) and those are even harder to track down than 18650 in a bind. The stock Tool is still worth a look.

I guess you have to determine what's important to you regarding preferred length, diameter, and fuel first of all. If it's not comfortable you won't carry it. Then probably max lumens, number of modes, activation whether clicky, twisty, or electronic switch, then tint if it matters to you.

AAA - lumintop tool or worm in copper (both massaged by Vinh), Eiger Ultra X (copper), with Olight i3s EOS (copper) on key chain.

AA/14500 - less carry since falling for the above and below

18650 - TX25C2, Seraph body/XPG2

My goto light ever since I got it is the olight h1 in neutral white. Great light, great user interface... it has replaced my olight s1, s1a and my maratacs.

A Fenix LD12 most days ... and a Fenix PD35 TAC for any night outings.

I alternate between Thorfire VG06 (14500/AA) and Fenix LD06 (10440/AAA) in my pocket-- both given by friends.

I have an Astrolux S1 (18650) in my man-purse.

My current EDC is a Streetlight ProTac 2L-X. Rather big for an EDC, but it's come in handy.

My most carried is the Eagtac D25a Ti.
Great little AA light with a nice beam. The entire light is a bright titanium. Bad pic. Aluminum version is cheaper.

My other favorite mini is the Foursevens Mini ML. CR123 with a nice output. Twist head. Neck lanyard comes in handy sometimes.

The super shiny thing is a quarter.:)

Here's a link <<<< to a photo some one posted of the light.
I bought it a couple weeks ago. It is called the
NiteCore T-Series Tube Infinitely Variable Brightness USB Rechargeable Flashlight

I have a similar light that I liked but wanted a rechargeable one instead of putting in two
wafer batteries. I think the NiteCore is going to work well.

One other nice thing about the light is that once you turn it on if you hold the button down for three seconds it will turn off and lock and won't come on in your pocket . . . at least not easily; one has to hold the button down for three seconds to get it to come on again.

I like that on the first normal click to turn it on it is on low and to get to high you click again within a second or two of the first click. Click to turn it on and click later than a few seconds and it just turns off. That is perfection for me.
I hate cycling through some tactical strobe thing or
having to go all the way to high etc to turn off a light.

I don't carry it on my key chain but just loose in my other pocket. It is a very small light but low is very useful and bright is quite bright.

So far no complaints. I wouldn't change a thing . . . and I am very picky. I wouldn't mind an all titanium version just for looks and park your car on it durability ( I have a tiny solid stainless steel Coast brand light that you can
literally park a car wheel on and it won't crush it ).

Fenix e05 is my normal pocket light. Going out when I might want to have more light is an E12, then there is an E21 floating around in one of my bags.

Don't need the lightest and brightest, and I don't need any fancy features.
All I need is a relatively bright and reliable flashlight that turns on and off, this is it and has been on me every day since late January.

Peak eiger in Stainless steel, Nichia 219 emitter and a momentary switch. This has to be my all time favorite.

Fenix PD25 is in my pocket every day. There would be some advantage to me of a slightly thinner light, if I could find one that uses a lithium rechargeable AA, but the PD25 works well enough. When I go to visit construction sites I carry my PD32 as well.

I don't carry a flashlight in my pocket but I've had one on my key chain for about 7 or 8 years. It's always been a Maratac AAA. I liked the first one so much that I bought another one earlier this year. I didn't need another one as the first one is still going strong but I wanted the upgraded model.

I tried out an Olight S1R Baton for a week or so but I ended up giving it to a friend. It was a great light with nice features. It just wasn't for me because it was a bit too awkward for key chain carry. It did however, clip nicely to a loop that my jeans have between the front and back pockets.

Streamlight microstream or Fenix LD02
1xAAA
Streamlight is cheaper, has a great S-clip, simple on/off switch
Fenix is a little more, better color rendering, multiple brightness levels.
Both use a tail switch - Fenix switch is easy (almost too easy) to activate. Don't have to worry about accidental activation on the streamlight.
I use my flashlight daily. I use it a couple hours a day at work. If I'm not camping, I have the streamlight in my pocket. When I go camping I take both. The lower settings on the fenix are good to have around camp.

I've carried an original ARC AAA by peter Gransee, been around my neck for nearly 12 years. I even shower with it, I have it around my neck on a chain with a Alox SAK Executive Money Clip also clipped to the neck chain.

I was stuck in a building after 10 pm when the power grid went down. When we lost the lights there was no back up generator or backup battery powered emergency lights. So it was pitch black inside and there were open drain pits and trip hazards all around the room with all kinds of acids and solvents used in making computer chips. If it wouldn't have been for my little ARC AAA there woulda been a dozen people stumbling around the room in the dark.

No one ever asked me why I wore a light around my neck. I was also the secondary emergency coordinator so it always came in handy clearing rooms. Funny thing was while the primary coordinator was out in the parking lot makin' sure that all the big wigs and muckity mucks were safe who do you think had to run into the building, secure it and insure everyone got out safe. I was always the last one out durin' an emergency or crisis, I remember when we got a call about a bomb in one of the chemical storage cabinets my boss looked at me ad told me to go into the building, secure the hydrogen tanks and other explosive gases they used while he called the bomb squad. I remember calling the plant from a bar an hour later.

The boss asked me where I was when I called and I told him I was 4 blocks away at a go go bar called the french Maid ;) Asked me what I was doin' in a bar and I told him I was callin' to let him know that there was a 55 gal drum of hydrozine (sp?) in flames a potential SRB if it started burning and once that stuff gets lit off it won't stop burnin' till it's done.

As a mechanic/fabricator/machinist a small AAA or AA pocket LED light is a perfect companion and any of the brand names will suit you well just use quality batteries.
