Definitely a nice custom, made to my specs from a maker here. I've sold most of my production fixed blades (that are perfect except for this one or two things), in favor of customs that are everything I want for a similar price

At that price I'd only consider a custom, likely purchased from a member here in the For Sale By Maker section. And I tend to prefer drop-point hunters with natural handles of some sort. :thumbup:

I'm fine with the idea of "just to have" - I've bought a number of knives for that specific reason - but I like my knives to usable, nonetheless.
My favorite just to have knife is a Swamp Rat Ratmandu. I've got several, in various configurations, and I think I've only used one of them.
I thought I had one being made by somebody here, but he never confirmed or responded to my last message; so I'm not sure & I haven't pursued it. (I'll probably make contact this summer to find out)
I'd probably also buy another Bark River Bravo 1-LT just to have...but I'd definitely go with an attractive wood handle rather than micarta, if it wasn't going to be a user.

I've been very impressed by mine. Have a rodent 6 and a regulator so far and I'm very happy with them.

Customs are also nice, and one of my favorite makers is Gravelle, but sort of the "same style" (but then again, it's my style so ....... win).
