what fixed blade would you get?

I would probably buy a Bark River Bowie of some sort. Probably a Rogue. Or a bBackjack 14 Halo Or a Survive! Knives GSO 5.1 or 7/7. I love thier stuff.

This one.

Ka-Bar, Ontario 499 "Pilot Survival" knife, another Cold Steel GI Tanto, and a couple Rough Rider fixed blades.
Why get just one?

I'd save $28 more and buy a Spartan Nyx.

I've been using one lately and it's a great utility knife, all belly and made from magically heat treated S35VN. Handle is thin enough to carry comfortably but contoured enough to be secure and comfortable in use, also the micarta doesn't stick to clothing. Easy to carry inside or outside of waistband, and the knife is light compared to most fixed blades. It's a great cutter, and the blade grinds are on the strong side.

I almost pulled the trigger on a Winkler Field Knife about 6 months ago, but didn't buy it. I love Busse, and Busse Kin, but I've got a few already, so I'd probably grab a Winkler. It just seems like a no nonsense, hard use knife. And that's right in my wheelhouse. I'm actually probably going to buy one in the near future just to have it.

If cost was no issue I'd contact Walter Brend and have him make me one of his blades in a neck knife configuration. I currently carry a black ops gear CO. It's in ATS 34 in a kydex cross draw belt holster. Came with an aluminum training knife as a gift. No markings not even prototype..

I have been debating a katana or ko-katana from Cheness Inc. lately...

It would definitely be a "just to have" purchase. (And to kill fruit, water bottles, etc.)
