The XD XM Modern Bowie is the answer.

Nobody's mentioned our own MCSWood's work, yet?

Okay.

Some of them go for more than 300, but some of his smaller designs land in that price point.

I've recently seen short footage of new Ontario 5160 bushcraft knifes, the large one seem very well constructed, well balanced heavy duty thick blade, full flat tang, functional piece of solid knife it must be for sure...Not overly priced either,,,so if i had few bucks to throw away, seem like a good choice right now to me.

Do not know the exact name of particular knife,sorry...Seem not to be in sale yet.

If I could find one a BUSSE skeleton key.... Or a Spyderco south fork. S90v has been calling my name for some reason. The South fork looks like a great hunting blade.

It would have to be something from the NEWYORK knife maker.
You can have big and scary. I prefer durable and functional

Not really a fixed-blade knife, but I have been looking at a Rattle hawk from Swamp Rat:. And, to break your other parameter about price , I would look at an RMJ tomahawk- probably a Shrike or Jenny Wren (about $450).:D

As previously mentioned check out Winkler, also take a look a Ken Brock's knives, he makes great EDC blades.

I was thinking about mentioning them both, but thought not to, sticking strictly to knives

He does make some nice blades. They have nice classic lines but with a more ZT grunge feel (albeit more polished).
