I see alot of you with these really nice customs, or sometime old guns. Sometimes in a knife pic, or next to your latest kill. I was woundering if you'd let me see what you hunt with? I don't care if this dies, but I just wanted to see what some of you guys perfer.

I use a Remington 770 my dad got me last October. It's a .270. He gave it to me the day before hunting. I shot 6, 10 yead old rounds that weekend, 3 wents towards getting a "close enough" kind of sighting in. One towards missing a doe, and two went into a 8 point buck.

Don't have a pic, but my favorite rifle is an OLD Model 8 Winchester in .32. It was a gift to me by my grandfather, and I believe it had belonged to his father. I love it so much because both my grandfather and I took our first buck with that rifle.

It's however not the one I hunt with the most though, that is my TC encore that was a gift from one of my uncle's. He had hunted with it for years and gave it to me. I've got a .308 barrel and a .50 muzzle loader barrel.

Winchester 94 30-30, Savage 110 7mm-08, rem 700 bdl .300 win mag, Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter .44 mag depending on what and where i'm hunting. 30-30 and 44 are my favs.

My favorite big game caliber is .338. Many say it's more than you need for deer but I've never had one go anywhere after being hit. Great on big hogs and sufficient for elk. Mine is an old Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker with a 1.5-6 x 42 mm Swarovski.

For whitetails I use a TC Encore 20 gauge and a Knight Bighorn 50 cal. Dove, crows I use Remington Peerless 12 gauge O/U shotgun. Groundhogs I use TC Encore 22-250 and TC Contender pistol in 223.

Winchester pre 64, controlled feed in 300 Win Mag ....... this one is a Springbuck in the Kalahari desert at 311 yards. The white on the back is called a pronk and comes up for a minute or so after a clean kill. Interesting - The pronk smells like candy floss ....it doesn't taste like candy floss though.

Winchester Model 70 .300 Win Mag with a 3x9 scope.

As far as I can tell it is all I will ever need. (Although I do lust after others)

Hi,

Mostly I've been using my Pedersoli cap-lock 12ga. SxS for upland hunting for the last 15 years. Loaded with an ounce of #5 bismuth, it's deadly on roosters. And at 6.8lbs, (on a UPS scale), it's pretty light to carry. while chasing Springers. Though I do occasionally get to use a Weatherby 20ga. Orion O/U, if I can pry it out my 17yr old Daughter's hands, ("But Dad, I look soooo much better with it than you do"!:D).

For rifles, well I really like my 1943 Swiss K31. But the straight pull action is a pain to use for a lefty. So I often grab my 1941 VKT made Finnish M39. Not quite as accurate, but very close. And a lot easier for me to operate.

Ruger #1 RSI in 7x57 caliber. Killed many deer, hogs, couple exotics, some yotes. Never needed a second shot. Hunted grouse & quail for many years with an old Parker 20 ga.

My absolute favorite is my Marlin 1894 .44MAG. I used to use a nice long range bolt action, one of those jobs that makes you able to hit stuff 500 yds away, but nowadays I enjoy the stalking and getting close more. For that, the 1894 is pretty hard to beat. For distance tack driving pest control, I use my Ruger 10/22T. Naturally, like most gun freaks, I turned mine into a rifle that most top snipers wish they could get their hands on. lol. For birds and slightly larger varment, I use my Saiga .410. I've got a ton of guns, but those three are the ones that see the most use for killing animals.

Small game - Ruger 10/22 with open sights. I did recently aquire a MK III 22/45 Hunter that I may put a scope on and use in place of the 10/22 sometimes.

Deer and the like - I just got a Marlin XL7 in .30-06 with a 3-9x Nikon scope for Christmas from the wife, haven't even sighted it in yet. Prior to that I had been using a borrowed M1 Garand.
