What happened to all the Microtech Fans????

The knives came with a pamplet about how the MT founders found Jesus and how Jesus leads to a fulfilled life.
Wow, mine didn't come with one of those. I think I've read somewhere that the pamphlets are put in by a certain distributor/seller, not Microtech themselves.

Buck knives has been doing it for a long time. Eh, it doesn't bother me any.

Do you have anything intelligent to contribute to this discussion, or do your limited mental faculties leave you with no recourse but to type in two-syllable words? I'm sure that they have a solution to whatever problem you have, and your innate immaturity can certainly be corrected with some minor outpatient surgery.

Oh, no. I've seen it! A personal letter signed by Tony Marfone himself!
Somebody on another forum scanned one and posted it.
It's impolite to link to other forums, but if you PM me I'll hook you up. ;)

i havent seen any religous literature in my MT boxes, lol. if i did get some and wasnt interested i would round file it anyway. doesnt matter to me really.

i have 4 now, a SOCOM elite, mini socom elite, 1st gen LCC and a halo.

lots of MT folks on microholics anonymous last time i looked.

since they are mostly autos and havent had a lot of new stuff lately (that turned me on anyway) they dont seem to get as much discussion as at 1 time. agree at 1 time lots of MT discussion going on....

also the CS issues turned a lot of folks off, i know it took them several months to fix my halo about a year ago, had probs w/a protech and the turnaround time was less than 2 weeks. protech probably took some sales away also for those into autos, similar quality at a better price..

msh441, not every side opening MT is available in manual action. The udt, ludt, old valloton design, and tanto socom elite are side opening and only available as autos.

I really want a manual action socom elite in tanto but it never became a regular production offering. The regular original old socom design (not elite) was offered in tanto.

Another problem with MT is they are a small company that will do a run on a knife then they will discontinue it.

yeah MT makes great knives, although they focus heavily on autos. The main thing is that their non-autos, while being good knives, are not worth the $130 for a 154CM liner-lock. There is better value elsewhere.

Then how do companies like Benchmade and Emerson get by? They seem to put out a ton of liner locks right in that price range. It's their bread and butter, though... where Microtech seems to cater to the higher end auto crowd.

OK, I've found the Anfib... the Chameleon... the Mini Socom Elite... and the Vector on one site in manual versions... and I just found the full-sized Socom elite and the MTX2. So yes, you are right. Not every model is offered.

There are enough manual models though where one should not completely rule out Microtech just because they cannot posses auto openers.

As far as discontinuing a model... I don't know that that's necessarily true anymore. There have been several runs of re-issued models, with some talk about other older models coming back real soon. Microtech is a little strange that way.

That's OK, I'll take your word for it. I should be able to locate the link using my amazing detective powers (plus my mighty pyramid ray power!).

MT? What can I say, I use it in my screen name.
MT's are great! My first MT was an LCC, my second was an LCC, oh it went on and on. I still have some, sold some, but still love all the ones I have and had.

Till something better comes out in MT's price range I will keep adding to my MT collection. As far as M/A goes the LCC M/A and Older Full sized Socoms are hard to beat. I am at about 12 MT folders right now and am far from finished. Buy One and you will know what all the fuss is about. :D

MCM, I don't know if you were talking to me but I already have a LCC so I know what all the fuss is about. I was just wondering why I didn't see more discussion on Microtechs anymore. I was real interested in the new Microtech knife thats in another tread going on right now. I can't remember the name right now but I think its Whale hunter or something like that. I like Microtech knives but they just don't have many designes that I really like.

I might not post about them (much) but the Socom Elite M/A and Amphibian are two of the all time best folders IMHO. I carry mine all the time.
