What happened to GEC?

Yes, it is an often question / complaint that keeps popping up

And yes, getting knives on the drop is difficult at best. I get lucky every now and then. But it is a hobby, keep looking, find the knives you like and if it at a decent price buy it. If not keep searching. Eventually, the knife you want may or may not appear. That is part of the excitement and thrill when you find one.

It used to be true if you regularly participated in the GEC discussion thread or traditional knives forum in general, you could often get a reasonable priced offer to sell you something you were looking for via private message. I don't know if those days are passed, but it might still be going on behind the scenes.

those were the days ...

Since I'm sitting out Fight Club this time around, but I still enjoy it as a spectator, DLT is dropping Doglegs at 11 central for those interested and think they have what it takes.

The first rule about fight club is that you talk about fight club when you are craving entertainment.

When I wanted one of DLT's ironwood 54s, I bribed a young dude who is computer savvy to snag one for me and it worked like a charm. He said it was one of the fastest drops he's participated in.

When the club meets at DLT, I fight by proxy! 😁

Did anyone here play? I didn't watch this time.

I just play. I see If I can get one in the cart and then delete before hitting pay. None of the patterns have appealed to me in years and I have more than enough knives to last the short time I have left on this earth. The 54 EO would have looked cooler without a nail nick IMHO.

Yeah, the DLT knives they just posted were sold out in less than two hours IIRC.

I've just retired from a lifetime in engineering, quality and manufacturing. There has been a sea change in the work ethic in America, which has meant that it doesn't seem to matter what you pay, an awful lot of people just don't want to work. Just getting people to show up for a five day week is a challenge. It is a nation-wide phenomena - Mike Rowe has estimated that there are currently 7,000,000 American men who aren't even looking for jobs.
Rant over.

I don't want to offend but that is exactly what some wage slave master would say.
Why work when the gain from it is barely better than being unemployed?
Why work when you can't put money to savings anymore?
