What happened to Kershaw?

No, I own about 2 dozen China made models produced over a number of years, I have noticed a significant decline in overall quality in build in the last 2 years, especially this year.

There has been a decline in materials as well, G10 is rarely ever used anymore, now it's all about plastic and "faux g10", whatever that is [emoji53]
My opinion:
I disagree. I have owned quite a few kershaws overthe years american, german, japanese, and chinese. I got a half dozen of this years Chinese made kershaw knives and they are just as good as and a few better than the crkt's and Byrds I've had and played with recently.

Especially the Emersons, those are solid and chinese made. Something the peeps in this thread think is an oxymoron. Quite the opposite I've found through actually owning and using these knives.

Just a small suggestion but perhaps you peeps could actually try these knives before saying you think they are crap? At least then you have a real opinion. Remember, there is a real difference between saying these are crap because that's what a forum says and just saying the design isn't my taste.

Like I said, just my personal opinion and experiences. Thought I'd share.

Best,

Justin

O ok, so you are generalizing hundreds of thousands of knives because of a .0001% sample. Gotcha.

Also, frn/grn is used in lots of budget knives and some higher end pieces as well. Benchmade and Spyderco both sell knives with frn/gen that are made in the USA and around $100.

I'm also pretty sure the plastic handled Kershaw's this year are priced around $25 instead of the $30+ that g10 ones are normally prices at. That's close to a 20% savings in the cost.

Did I mention I really like Kershaw knives? I'm disappointed in that their quality on China imports has declined recently.

As far as the Emersons...the 6&7 are good knives, in fact very good knives. The rest...not so much.

If you want an outstanding Emerson design, buy a ZT...then buy an Emerson...then buy a K/E...and that's coming from a multiple Emerson owner and avowed "fanboy".

ftfy.
