Haha! I miss the baby years. Enjoy you little girl, Paden.

Just placed an order for this Flexcut 4pc set. When the funds become available, I'm going to purchase the 4pc scorp set.

My grandpa uses the flex cut set. In fact, I know the straight blade will leave a very clean cut in your hand if you're not careful. My buddy borrowed that one to carve a totum, and I got to apply the field dressing. :D

Nice, I don't have the set, but I do have 3 of those, one of them is probably my most used carving knife. I still haven't ponied up for a set of scorps. Got a couple chip carving blades and a small set of the interchangeable palm knife/gouges. I really haven't gotten into the full 3D sculpture yet, mostly I do simple stuff, reliefs, chip pattern decorations, and "primitive" whittling stuff (linked chains, simple toys, etc.). Lots of times I just end up with kindling... but its fun and relaxing.

Have fun!

Erik

Scorps will make it a lot easier to carve the hair/beard.

Oh yeah, these babies can cut... I've been practicing unintentional blood letting for nearly 50 years... my 2 worst cuts ever were the result of failing to pay enough attention when I was using the larger straight blade in the picture. When your mind starts to wander, its best to put the knife down cause they'll cut rather effortlessly until they hit bone (and they'll stick in that if you're not careful too).

Sure will, so far I do that kind of stuff with a small 'V' and the deeper gouges in the interchangeable blade palm set.

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your carvings, got a feeling they'll inspire me.

I wish I had some bacon. I'm down at the parent's house with my cousins and uncle and mom and grandma and the parents. Grandma turns 90 tomorrow, well today. Too bad she doesn't remember anything.
