What happened to the Taiwanese Beckers?

I too would like to get my Hands on a Reinhardt Kukri but i am not looking forward to the Cordura/leather crapfest that Kabar is likely to provide it in...

I hope they think up some new sheathing method or provide the option buy/sell without sheath

nobody likes the sheath (tm), that said, KaBar isn't one of those piece of shite fly by night companies that sells you a knife with a cardboard sleeve. right. you'll spend more for a 3rd party leather sheath than a Becker with sheath costs. have fun!

they have morals, and safety concerns. you are literally paying nothing for the sheath they provide. don't like it? SELL IT. there are people who will gladly buy them.

don't like the original scales? SELL THEM. there are people who will gladly buy them.

Yes, I realize that the reason it is provided with sheath is that KABAR had a reputation for working knives out of the box. You can't have a working knife without a working sheath..

I'm not asking for anything more expensive, in fact my 9 is happier at home in an old Frost Cutlery "survival knife" nylon sheath that I've had for over a decade than it's ever been, I'd just like to see those cordura"leather" (read dry old stake crackers stichef together) rethought a little. Eliminate the "leather"?

The snaps that came on my LHB were literally cracked to the point of easily being ripped off right out of the box, plus those snaps are horrible and a Pain in the.. "shoulder", why not just use riveted nylon like all the others?
