What happened to Thomas?

Thomas: i'm a devoted Kershaw customer, and I visit Bladeforums specifically to read your posts, so please don't stop posting.

and just let me know if you need me to go burn somebody's house down for talking trash on Kershaw. :)

Thomas simply isn't cut out to deal with the unabashed, candid nature of internet forums. People say whatever they want online, often without thinking because they have the safety of anonymity. It's a harsh environment for a person of passionate nature. On top of that, he simply doesn't take criticism well, even if it isn't just stupid trolling, he tends to go overboard with his sarcastic, insulting responses to honest reviews and opinions.

He leaves and swears this place off because he can't handle it all the time. He was doing it before the Kershaw forum was here, before the real Kershaw following came together.

He brings a lot to the table, but will need to temper his emotions to really function here.

And you know all this at the ripe old age of twenty two, wow !! People need to be polite even if it is a forum and they have anonymity. You sir do not have the knowledge to make a judgement of Thomas or anyone else on this forum, none of us do. Please be careful what you say about people.

Dave

At "the ripe age of 22" I have years more experience in this type of environment than many of the people that post here, as this setting is much more akin to my generation. I know how the internet works, and I have a ton of experience watching others react to it.

I said nothing insulting about Thomas, and all of it is true. I've seen every single observation I mentioned play out here on multiple occasions.

Get upset with me if you want, but I'm being objective and honest about why Thomas is gone, and condescending to me won't change the truth of the matter.

stick around for another 20 yrs and maybe you'll realize that you're being pretty damn presumptuous and arrogant to think you know what goes on inside of somebody else's head. then again, you figured out life at 22 and you invented the internet, so maybe you are qualified to psychoanalyze Thomas.

Now, now, he never said he invented the Internet, he simply implied that no one outside his generation can relate to it.

Funny though, I thought the internet and bulletin boards (oops, forums) were invented by a bunch of grey hairs that just needed to get stuff done.

How is it possible that you still don't get that we have our own happy little world here. Stir the s**t outside the Kershaw forum all you want but for fricks sake get a clue man. Most people here like and admire Thomas and the work he does. This thread is for us to vent about somehting that happened to a friend. If you want to buck for a fight go to Whine and Cheese.

Dang...Thomas WILL be missed! I'll help to take up some of the moderating slack, as I'm here most of the time anyhow.:).

If ya'll don't mind a Spyderco fanboy joining in here, I'll shed a tear for Thomas also. I've thoroughly enjoyed his posts. I appreciate his knowledge of knives in general, Kershaw in particular, and his passion when talking about and defending things that are dear to him.
