What have you most recently used your knife for?

I went to the Oaks PA gun show yesterday, and used my Griptilian to cut open a bag of jerky sticks.

I used my cpm m4 pm2 to cut down around 30 beech trees for a shooting lane. The trees ranged from .5" to 1.5" in diameter. I suppose I could've used a chainsaw, but a pm2 is much easier to carry.

Cut open a couple of boxes, Trimmed a dead branch on a small Cedar tree, Opened it and closed it a few times!!

I was cleaning and filing our miniature pony's hooves when i noticed his tail had gotten too long. He wasn't stepping on it yet but close to it. So i gave him a few more inches of ground clearance with my Spyderco Pacific SE.

How did the edge hold up?

That's basically my only EDC at the moment. How is the patina coming?

Saturday I was unexpectedly asked to break down a small mountain of boxes for recycling. I had my Rat1 on me and we went to work. Took about 30 minutes and I broke down approx 80 lbs of cardboard so it fit into two trash bags.

The knife performed wonderfully but as one might expect was uber dull at the end of that. It only took about 10 mins of a fine DMT stone to bring the AUS8 right back however.

it was kind of nice to actually need my edc for a change as opposed to making up reasons to use it ;-)

Used my XM-18's to cut a bunch of zip ties off the Christmas tree when I got it home, also to cut open a whole slew of Priority Mail boxes gifts, knives, etc...that I received in the mail. Edge retained and not a mark on any of them. Smooth like butter.

One of them was also used involuntarily to take a chunk out of my ring finger bone under the finger nail, lol I foolishly did not lock it in the open position when I was checking out the detent ball & lockbar; it just swung down with its own weight. It was a Slicer grind too so you can imagine it made chop suey of my finger.

It's essentially my only edc as well! There was a slight dull spot near the tip, but it still cuts paper and shaves, just not really easily.

As for the patina, it was starting to form a bit of one behind the edge after four months of it being my primary edc, so I went ahead and forced it a bit this morning.

And I should specify that I was cutting the trees by bending them as far as I can and cutting the side that's in tension. Cuts through like butter as long as you are able to get the tree to bend.

My immediate family had Christmas with my mother last night, mainly just for the kids (grandkids, nieces, nephews). Being the only one in the family that carries an edc knife, my mini griptilian saw a lot of action opening toy packages.

Merry Christmas BF!

Used my ZT 0561 to open a package from County Comm, which had the gifts I bought for myself. Then used it again to open the battery package to grab the C battery for my new Maratac "TLL" strobe/flashlight. Got the TLL, a "warrior beanie" and a titanium money clip. Merry Christmas to me! :D

Last night, I had to cut a pizza that had not been sliced properly. I was the only one at the table that had a knife!
