What I Learned By Being Away

Welcome back Buzz.

Did the same Millie to Manix and back again dance over the last year - although I'm going even lighter with a Pacific Salt nowdays.

It's good to see so many familiar names!!!! I guess that old bastids never die. They just end up on Bladeforums.

Torz – Thanks for the baby advice. The info has been added to the list in the wife’s hospital B.O.B. Yes, I equipped her with a birthing bug-out bag. Lots of hospital survival tools (including a SAK) and clothing and stuff. She made me remove the camouflage panties and space blanket though. I guess that stuff is for the little survivalist fantasies that got me into this mess in the first place.

Normark – “As opposed to something Large and Dead.” – I tried that idea on my mother-in-law. She was too fast for me, and refuses to return my Gransfors Bruks wildlife hatchet.

ROM831 – I never saw a single cent from Sal. Not even a free t-shirt. I tried calling him at home about the bill, repeatedly. I’d talk to him face-to-face if it weren’t for that little restraining order problem…..

Ed Gordon - I have since learned about the spey blade and have removed all stockmans and trappers from my home. The wife is extra-pregnant at the moment, and says she'll spey me if I ever get her pregnant again. Nobody's gettin' my jewels!!!!

Welcome back, Buzzbait.

A pleasure to read your post. Puts many things in perspective. In the end it is all about what works for you!

Hi Buzzbait,

Glad to see ya visitin'.

Sorry 'bout the kickbacks, I sent them to Rom ;)

Congrats on the kid. The only things that are really new are babies and tomorrow.

If you raise him right, you'll end up with a kid like Sal did, and he'll make more knives for you.

Welcome back! NOW you tell me the Highland has a small handle !!! (Works fine for me ... :) )

Welcome back Buzzbait.....I remember you well after seeing your pic........:D Congrads on the little ones ! :D

You probably don't remember me though...............:(

Robbie Roberson ;)

Hiya BB.... Congrats on your impending fatherhood, and congrats on your cute little doxie. Don't just take home the little hat from your new baby... smuggle home one of the blankets that they will swaddle him/her in. Sometimes you have to find a sympathetic nurse though.

Mongo

p.s. been doing my best to follow your advice on how to keep a happy marriage.... hopefully it ends up in me getting my wife preggers too!

Geez Keith. I thought your post count was high when I left........ ;)
I'm sure you'll run across silenthunterstudios at some point.

He's been here since Feb. 2005 (1 year). His post count is 5,666 as of this post.

No, wait, 5,667.

No, wait ... :D

Your reviews between the 710HS, the Milie and the Sebenza was one of the first I came across and learned from about several years ago. I liked the your functional/working/meat-&-potatoes approach on them.

Congrats on your new baby!

Buzzbait,

Welcome back. I don't think we've ever conversed, but I did wonder what happened to you a while ago. I remember those funny as hell posts in W&C and elsewhere and those pics of your Camillus EDC with the paracord wrapping (still trying to think of a way to do the same). Congrats on the house, the baby, and the avatar change (yes, this avatar is better than the last..............., j/k)

Buzz, welcome back! I'm glad you've used your time away to the best. Neat getting a house, and Congrats on the kid. Just remember, when the squab is born and you get sent home, enjoy those days because they are the last days of good sleep you are like to get for a LONG time!

Hey Buzz,
It's good to hear from you again.
I thought that you had violated some SOSAK code and they had done away with you!

Also, congrats on your upcoming child and on your new dog too.

Thanks, in part, to your "Buckbenza" threads I'm sending my black 560 back to Buck for a BG-42 blade very soon.
I've been carrying the 560 for several weeks now and I love it--even with the 420HC!
It took me a while to get used to EDCing a belt pouch again, but now I feel strange without it.

Later,
Allen.
