what if you where on a deserted island?

i was thinking, if you get stuck on a deserted island, you can only take one item with you.
after the abvious things (a ship that will take me home, radio transmiter etc.), the best next thing will propably be a knife, some thing you can use for building, hunting and staff- but whice knife will it be?

Well, of course, it would be a SAK! I would bring my stranded on a deserted island model, with the built in lighter, raft, and oars, and pop up shelter, and rifle, and water supply.

Other than that, probably a machete.

I'd be more interested in a ferro rod than knife. Life is better w/ a fire.

i know it is stupid, but when i fly, i make sure i have a knife and somthing to get fire started in my laugage, just in case the plane crashes...

How many screws and wine bottles are on a deserted island? I don't see how a SAK would be of much help in a wilderness survival scenario.

I would take a Cold steel knife with Triad lock. You could baton a 4 star resort to relax in with it and slash off hunks of pigs that are running around so you can eat some tasty bacon while you sit back and wait for your rescue. I know it's possible cause I saw it on youtube.

I normally have no use for a chopper but I think something with an 8" blade would be optimum for dense tropical island survival.
