What is an INFI HOG ?

Thanks for the info. :)

I realize that collecting Busses is only a small part of becoming a HOG, but may I ask how many pieces you had when you were inducted?

When I was inducted? Oh lord, let me think for a sec...

Back then I was still heavy into the older pieces and just started getting into Custom Shop stuff in 2002. I don't keep records, but I'd say between 25-30. Once I met Contender the year before it started skyrocketing...he was a bad influence on my bank account, LOL

I started out as a piglet with an SH-E back in Mar of 2001 or 2002, I don't recall exactly. It progressed rather quickly. I bought up every thing I could snag up. Before you know it I had 30 or forty pieces. I had the great fortune to make it to the Indy 1500 show in 2002 and meet a lot of the guys who are elder hogs now and the Boss Hog himself. We all went to dinner and chatted like we were old friends. I was dumb founded. Here I was, a lowly customer dining with the man, the myth the legend and it was awesome. Then came discussions of O.I.N.K. and the next thing I know we are getting inducted as the first round of Hogs at Blade 03. It is all down hill from there, like a snow ball getting bigger and more uncontrollable as it tumbles ever forward. :D No regrets and live it up brothers and sisters. :D

Man, you guys are fast! :D

I got a lot of work to do if I ever want to proggress to pig, neverming HOG. :D

You've got plenty of time, Peter. I bought my first Busse in 1994 (a BBSHII) and I am still just a piglet, in awe of the big hogs at the deep end of the trough.

Fascinating...

Apparently the order I just put in for a FBM, or perhaps the sweat trickling down my forehead just before I hit the enter key, qualify me as a 'proto-PIGLET' (that is, I will be a piglet...when the blade arrives).

But what terrifies me is the clear indication that this is a progressive illness. No sign of an effective treatment. And now I'm starting to think about the elusive SMOG.

I have cut way back, I just gave away four to six a year the last two years.

Only two so far this year,,,I think.

Years where I gave away twenty-plus, were rather costly.

I will likely give a couple more N.I.C.Ks in the next year, and a few more Skel Keys.

I may take a few Busse knives to other makers to "Trick out" a bit.

wanna be friends?

So, idahoskunk,
What's the word? When are you gonna let me have what's mine, er I mean what I am waiting to order?
I can't be a piglet until you put my little toothed friend up for sale. So what'll it be? I got a fresh roll of duct tape and a nice big box to send you my first born. Heck if you toss in a sheath I'll put his mother in the box to. I'd prefer to pay with U S funds but you just name your price. Although an arm and a leg may be hard to do as I would have to have the INFI up front in order to remove said form of payment, I just don't think any blades I have would be up to the task.
Today I aspire to be a piglet, tommorow who know I may just get to be one.

Wow...guess I'm a pig...BA, B7, OD, SK, and an apprentice knife...goin' to the Knob for more!

So how's that "progressive illness" coming? Can you believe it was only four years ago?

I'm open to adoption... ;)

I give away nice knives too, though not as many and not as much INFI as you.

I've given away a few of Watanabe's blades as gifts, and some Globals I wasn't using anymore, and two Busses I bought for myself but didn't end up wanting.

Gifts that keep on giving.
