What is better option to kill a leopard, a knife/machete or bare hands

"They" say with dog attacks that your best option is often to jam your fist down their throat, but I hope I never have to report on how that works.
I would have stayed with the machete unless the voice of God talked to me, as well.

I don't think I want to visit any rest homes in kenya, the altizheimers ward must be horrific......

I once had to do just that. I was dogsitting a friends male pitbull and old female mastiff mix and they started playing too rough. The pitbull drew blood and I guess it set him off. So, when I went to break it off (no hose handy!) he turned on me and attacked.

I dropped to my knees and rammed my fist into the back of his throat. I was pissed and am somewhat ashamed to say that I held him on it for a minute; I wanted to make sure he understood that I was stronger and in total control. But really, I was just angry; my independent amateur psychoanalysis tells me that I was angry at the fear his attack caused in me.

Anyways, it worked very well. For the next week I was watching them the pitbull was well behaved and more obedient than I would have thought possible.

I'm just lucky I have big hands- for awhile he was trying to crush my fist.
 
There are recorded historic situations where a man strangled bear to death. Surely evropean brown bear, but even so its feat !

I"ll take a knife, preferably a Bowie, over a machete or bare hands. Machete would work if you could keep animal at strike distance but not so good when he is on top of you. Bare hands - most animal predators are several times stronger than a human. We are the top predator because of our brains and tools, not because we can out fight others with our bare hands.

Nice to see that the guy got free medical treatment. I'd certainly buy him a beer.
