What is currently the most popular blade of 2014?

I feel like that it's probably a toss up amongst tried and true favorites.

Just naming a few off the top of my head:

- Spyderco Para-military 2
- Spyderco Delica 4
- Spyderco Endura
- Benchmade Griptilian / Mini Griptilian
- Benchmade 940

I have no idea, but based on my own perceptions (and only counting new 2014 released models) maybe its the zt0562.

Unquestionably something by Victorinox, probably the Classic. In fact, I would bet that in 2014 the Vic Classic outsold the top performers from Spyderco, KAI, Benchmade, Emerson, Cold Steel and CRKT combined.

Opinel is the only other company that might have a realistic competitor in terms of units sold.

My best guess for highest sellers would be between:
Kershaw Leek
Kershaw Blur
Spyderco Delica
Spyderco Dragonfly
All of these have several sub-models also. I see these 4 more than any.

If you're talking about new blades, the Kershaw Strobe seems pretty popular. Don't know many others, I've been a bit out of the loop...

Nailed it. Vic's destroy everything mentioned in this thread. Bear Grylls knives do also.

We make up a small part of the market.

The Kershaw/Emerson CQC was voted the Blade Show knife of the year. But as mentioned Victorinox has the market cornered in terms of knives sold. I've bought 8 of them this year alone.

I wouldn't say the Gerber BG knives are the MOST popular but i will say they are pretty popular especially sense gerber has ironed out all the issues with the knives and gave them a better overall quality.

The BG and other popular big box knives probably are one of the most popular (behind Victorinox, which consistently destroys the market each year.)

What one knife is Wal-Marts largest, biggest seller. Not nessessary the best knife, but Wal-Maaart does sell a heck of alot of products.

I'd have to do a bit of digging, but I was at Wally a couple days back, most guys there were checking out Winchester and Camillus value packs. There were somewhat better knives with Kershaw and SOG nearby, but they were mostly checking out the former. I'd say the best-selling knife is likely to be one of these lesser "off-brands" most of us here would not purchase. Again, just my feeling.

Edit: As far as online goes, when sorted by bestsellers, a cheap MTech and the mini Paraframe are the best-sellers. Not indicative of brick and mortar sales I suppose, but perhaps telling all the same.

I can't speak from walmart experience sense the one I go to doesn't really have any sort of selection of knives but I would think that in terms of walmart the most popular knives is the BG series

Mine seems much smaller than it used to be but maybe it's just me. They used to have a glass counter with lots of folders from which to choose, now they don't. There's a case and a few shelves but it seems much smaller.

All that mine has is literally a small cabinet in a corner of the gun section with nothing particularly good besides the few gerber knives there.

Mine has the Gerbers, and a few decent SOGs and I saw a Kershaw Cryo II. Mine is a 24/hr Supercenter which is why it seems so odd they have downsized.
