What is grivory made by cold steel

Yeah. Of course, you don't actually know any of them. And with your attitude, I can imagine how they react to you.

And watch your language, tough guy. This is Blade Discussion. Not Whine & Cheese.

Well in the knife training I do it was suggested to take a metal tipped and strong pen aboard a flight if you wish to carry something for protection. Hold it in a rear hand grip and strike using a backfist type strike toward the neck or eyes..don't use a 'click' pen coz they tend to break..

I've 2 CS delta dard, deadly toys, bought them because I collect every kind of weapons, even the wrong concept (Bamboo dard is also effective than givory) . Maybe I'm some kind of sociopath to collect things like that... but at the same time, my dards stay at home, if you go out with such a weapon it's only to do bad things !!! Crazy world !

I have found that the Delta Dart makes a fine handle for a hot ear of corn. Drive it a couple of inches into the end of the ear and roll the corn around in the butter! :D

That is a frikkin brillant idea. Hammer that thing in & it won't be falling out like those other tiny stickers.

They are Made to go through Metal detectors at clubs and bars. I wouldn't try to take one on a Plane. They will "Rendition" your ass in a hot second and ship you to Gitmo to be waterboarded.
I have the Tai-Pan and 3 Spikes and 2 Daggers. I keep the Tai-Pan In the shower.(Call me Paranoid, But better to have then to have not). I Stabbed the Spike right through 1/4 plywood like butter. So I Imagine it's an ok Back-up. I also Broke Bricks With the Pommel of the Tai-pan. They work Great, but they aren't "Knives" they are "Shivs". The One I have is SE and might be able to saw through rope, never tried, but it definatly will go through soft tissue and slip past Bone. For $15-$20 Bucks they are Ok. And they don't rust in the shower, I also keep some strategicly placed around my Property. you Never EVER Know............

Delta Dart, Not Spike, I should say. and the other one thats(I forget what it's called). The 'Evisserator" or something, It's a 3 edged spike with rubber handle. Stabs easily through most anything, and you can fix the tips with a file and a lighter.

Both daughters get full metal drafting pencils from Santa this year. Can't carry a blade in school, but a pencil? That's OK.

I believe these are good for a one time use defensive item, as stated before. I don't personally own any to have a good opinion on them, just what I have heard from others, but they seem like they are worth the price.

Stolas' testimony with his seems to indicate they're a little more substantial that a one-time use. Most stuff you'd be likely to stick 'em in in a self defence scenario would likely be softer than the plywood and other things he tried it out on.

The ARE more substantial than one-time use IMO, they can't take an edge but the point can be sharp enough, and the ones I've seen are sturdy. But I think Esav's point is still mostly right, they don't really have much use except in a last ditch situation, and in that case how likely is it you will have such a thing handy? No, they don't rust, if you need to stab someone coming in on you in the shower I suppose you have a winner. They are cheap, some may buy one to see how the size and dimensions of a knife like the Tai Pan or tanto feels in hand--that's a reason I got the tanto, pictures and measurements just don't do it sometimes.

I bought one of these online once: http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/csstoreonline/big-92fbb.jpg

Ironically, it ships with a metal key ring through the hole in the hilt.

It was total garbage. There was no cutting edge at all. I couldn't open an envelope with it.

The point was sharp relative to the edges and you could possibly drive into something, but the blade had a lot of flex and any metal pen or pencil would be a better choice.

i assume those are illegal in CA, as most places i have looked them up say "No sales to CA/MA"

no neck knives, autos, balisongs... i need to move.

In maybe 20 round trips since 9-11-01, I was frisked once. That was 1 in 40 for me. Not good odds IMO if you want to stay out of jail.

I got my Delta Dart in the late 1980s, and until 9-11-01 you could carry a folder onboard a plane, so I doubt they were made to bypass airport security.

Lansky and Choate made their plastic knives long before CS, going back at least to the early 1980s. The Choate Ice Scraper actually works as a small ice scraper.
