What is INFI?

Vassili,

This is why we invite and encourage all makers and manufacturers to do their own performance testing on their own knives in "LIVE" demonstrations at the BLADE show. It's their reputation on the line, therefore they should be the ones who do the testing.

Customers have NOTHING to lose, and their objectivity is always called into question when comparison edge tests are published. If a "fanboy" for a particular brand of knives does comparison edge testing, then how can anyone be sure that the bevel geometry and edges are actually equal? How can we be sure that they are playing fair?

On page 4 you made my point with this post.

You are correct my friend! . . . . No one else has done this demonstration. . . . . That "Booming Silence" says more than any third party comparison tests on edge holding.

Perhaps you should invite these other makers and manufacturers to duplicate our "LIVE" tests at next year's BLADE Show?. . . . That could prove to be interesting.

Let's Drink!

Jerry :D

I do not think that this "booming scielence" say anything but the fact they do not want to do this very hard work! As I sad I damage my wrist and it is not completely healed yet. Even I did way more easy cutting in longer period of time.

From other hand there is ABS competitions - did you ever participated there or at least do what they did with INFI? It will be at least some kind of side by side testing.

Did you ever done CATRA tests and make it public?

Manufacturers may have other reasons not to join somebody else testing efforts. If you remember I post on Busse Forum request for you to make Mule knife with INFI by Spyderco specification so we will be able to compare all their steels with INFI (and ideally SR101 and SR77 as well)...

Thanks, Vassili.

hi vassilli. found one of your pics of one of your game wardens.:D

Well they are still hosted on my webside, I am not hiding them. And this is wax pring on edge angle - if you remember I had to invent way to measure angle which turns out to be almost same as CATRA uses.

EAC-01.jpg

It is about 32 degree -

And this is Busse Meaner Street with manufacturer edge - about 35 degree:

and this is video on how I removes wax:

But why do you bringing this up now? I thought it was all clear while ago.

Thanks, Vassili.

Which you obviously know nothing about, least of all what "ABS" means.

Jerry makes his own designs, why would he make a copy of a spyderco in order to satisfy one silly troll? That is just stupid.

Why so hostile?

This whole thread is starting to sound like the catholic inquisition...few hundred years back.

I guess human nature never changes ;)

probably because vassili has a history of asking some of these things like "why not busse in other steels?"

heres a link: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=519275&highlight=nozh2002

he has posted these questions in the busse subforum before. jerry (the owner of busse combat) always answers these questions. but again same questions. a pattern developes and people just get turned off.

i like s30v in my folders. also like d2. but in a hard use knife (to the point of abuse) i'll take infi please.

When you've been around here a little longer you will realise that nozh likes to lecture people on a subject he thinks he knows a great deal about, ignores anyone who dares to disagree with him and has absolutely no idea what the word "test" really means. Most people simply ignore him, that's what I do. It's not really hostility, people just get a little frustrated sometimes.

This thread is a train wreck, wow.

INFI works, and works well... when the edge isn't sharpened to transparency.:D

What is INFI?

A very tough steel with one of the best warranties in the business and some of the best customer service.

Unfortunately, every thread Nozh gets involved with becomes a train wreck. After a while, you start to realize that it's not just a coincidence.

I agree, it's a shame. A shameful shame, steeped in shaminess.

I agree.
Trolling infraction also issued. (or will be in a few seconds).

You da man!

Na, just another knife collector like most of us who is sick and tired of some folks with obvious agendas who insist on bringing up the same thing over and over again and derailing threads with their personal agendas.
