What is missing in ESEE's product line?

definitely would love to see a hatchet, similar to what TOPS makes. Thin, micarta handles, ESEE logos, ROWEN quality. I'd buy at least one.

Hello,

As I am sure we all know, ESEE makes some great products. My Izula is simply an excellent knife. They are soon to release two folders, they have released a arrowhead, a heavy chopper and a machete. What do you think they are missing from there product line? I personally would like to se a filet knife.

Stainless steel blade that allows spin to work with fire steel.

Hoopster, I just clicked on this thread to type the same response. How about dusting off that RAT Railsplitter and redo it as a ESEE Railsplitter.

Speaking of that old RAT Railsplitter, I know someone has one lost in a drawer somewhere. Pass it on to a brother.

+1 on the axe
+1 on watertight survival kit

and id like esee backbacks/ruck's/3 day packs

It seems to me that ESEE has most size knives covered from <3" to 10" blades. But there is a big gap between the 6 and the Junglas. An 8" blade camp knife, similar to a Hudson Bay style would be nice. Such a knife is less machete-like than the big Junglas, but still capable of chopping better than the ESEE-6. It is more compact, and easier carrying, too. Just my two cents. In the picture, for those who are not familiar with the Hudson Bay style camp knife, it is the one on the bottom below the bowies. It's a simple, proven design that would fit well into the ESEE line of outdoor knives, IMO. The ESEE version could use the same handle as the ESEE-5 and ESEE-6, which is probably safer than the original. This knife could be made in either 3/16" or 1/4" stock.

I agree with Horn Dog, I want a Esee-8, 3/16 thick saber ground(for strength), no choil!!!!, and canvas handle.

Another simple -to- produce Idea I thought of is an Esee Altoids tin size knife ( similar to the Becker Remora but smaller to fit the tin.) It would be a great piggyback for the bigger Esees as well to perhaps attach to a sheath.

I don't know if someone mentioned this idea, but an Izula style knife in the shape of a double sided dagger, maybe with a T-style handle for a neck knife or maybe it can be used as a spear head. And more sheath styles where you can fit two sized knives with a survivor kit, etc. The hatchet idea is a real good one too and a bigger version of the arrow head.

How would a double sided push dagger be an Izula style knife? :D

A hawk or hatchet would be kick arse

A Tomahawk, axe head or a hatchet would rock!
I'd also like to see a stainless Izula 2. Although the stainless ESEE 3 is close enough.

I want to throw in also for a 4-MIL. Offered in black and OD, with the black screws and the green canvas micarta. That'd be the next knife I bought if they offered it.

it seems i agree with a lot of guys here. i like the canvas micarta, black screws, and black blade look like that of the 3mil, 5 SERE, and junglas. i would order a 4 and 6 today if they were offered in this configuration. i'll bet that combo would be hard to keep in stock, and should be pretty easy to produce.

what are the chances of making this happen for 2011?
