What is "overrated"..??

Fal (because its my favoite)
Very close second
Ak
M14

Way down list AR

But like the knife discussion. Buy what you like.

Well I'll admit I bought my first Busse because of a certain television show with zombies in it, but the knife in question is definitely not overrated.

Well chosen... can't go wrong with that lineup... and an AR15 certainly has its place and uses. If I were going to be on a long trek with my rifle, with a planned out short engagement.. and was pretty sure I wouldn't get stuck out there in a long drawn out firefight.. i left home with it clean..and a cleaning kit an high grade oil was waiting for it upon my return...well then an ar is light with great precision. I think of it more for seals that airlift in whack some bad guys with their suppressed m4s rescue the hostage..an head back to base..

The word "Overrated" is just another form of sour grapes.

“Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.” George Carlin.

:D

I dialed in to the M14 for its build quality, durability& accuracy...guns are tools and there it different tools for different jobs.. but what really turns me on about a gun is rugged reliability... for me the closer you can get a rifle to the dependability of a hammer.. the more I like it. If it's inherently accurate as well... that's where I start to blush!! I'm not talking crazy competition accurate. Ultra sub moa rifles typically have like zero tolerance within the moving parts.. but naturally they act up around sand, mud, ect... the Ak has tons of loose tolerance and it's dependable as hell but limited in accuracy (though not as bad as people like to say) the m14...in all I have experienced, is as dependable as the AK and is capable of competition accuracy.. the 18" scout/tanker model is my grail rifle.. and .308 is awesome. Just my 2 cents

The AR is the source of contention between our firearms instructor and myself. Rob, you are on the money....short engagement / clean / and cleaning kit waiting on you. He is an AR fan boy and they are the only worthy patrol rifle because they are "precision" firearms. I tried to explain that if we, as officers, need precision firearms then why do we carry Glocks. Glocks are the AK of the pistol world. Tough as nails and rarely need cleaning. Cops ( by majority ) are lazy, don't clean their equipment, and want something very low maintenance. 50 yards is the max we have to qualify at with a "patrol rifle" and I could do that with any AK and wolf ammo. But he won't hear it... Because it's not a "precision" firearm.

And the Fal, well she was my first love. I've got a picture of me standing next to my fathers FAL and it was taller than me. Still shoot it and still love it. M14s have always had a place in my collection, and I love it....just not as much as the FAL and it falls below the AK just because of its reliability. Then I've recently gotten into AKs and reluctantly an AR. My time in Iraq left me hating them and my department it following the same pattern.

Well, since we've turned to firearms I will say that the reliability of Benelli shotguns is overrated. I shoot one and so does one of my hunting buddies. They have some nice features but I still think that for the money, they are overrated.

Very level headed thinking my friend, I love the FAL.. and when it comes to the M14.. I am serious about aiming for usgi parts..an good relievers like Military issue, LRB, or Smith ent. I also feel that .308 is so much more versatile than a carbine. and an AK is a great gun, I built them for years... an Glock, well cmon...a Glocks a Glock..good stuff :)

You will often hear the term "overrated" used when talking about brands like Busse and other top end manufacturers.

The general argument from haters is that these brands are not worth the money asked. Most often the truth is that these folks simply cannot afford to buy the good stuff and they need to justify that to themselves by dissing the product.

So much has been written and proven about Busse/INFI that it simply cannot be argued that the knives are overrated. Anyone who has owned and used one knows this.

I got in an argument the other day with someone.. it started when I mentioned how I felt a particular knife brand was somewhat overrated.. when he discovered that I like Busse..the argument was on, he said "if anyone is overrated its Busse"

To me this is not "overrated".. what do you guys think? am I off base?

Bring them to the shop we will make a believer out of them. Chop off and will tell them stories of how well Busse takes care of people.

The Benelli is not the softest shooting shotgun-However put a thousand rounds through one without cleaning it, and then tear her down-The greatest Benefit of a Benelli is how clean they run-Just sayin-Cheers

Take them to Dave's for a Chop Off or point them to Jerry's Warranty Post.

I don't know anyone else who'd have fixed that blade, and that's why I LOVE my Busse Knives!! ----

Honestly, I don't think my Benelli runs any cleaner than my Browning gas guns. Only real difference is that the Brownings get some powder residue inside the forearm and on the mag tube. Inside the action itself, I can't tell a difference.
