What is the best cheapest knife you wouldn't be afraid to EDC?

For the office, I carried SAKs and Gerber LST Ultralights and Microlights for years. All under $10 each. I later upgraded to Kershaw OD2's, each about $15 each.

For the garden and light camping, nothing the $15 Mora Companions can't handle.

Victorinox Tinker. $18 it will do most of what I need daily. SAKs are hard to beat in a value for dollar competition.

I do prefer the Blur I carry though for work tasks.

Afraid? I guess I don't understand the question. I've slid a Kershaw Shuffle in my pocket as I took off out the door, as it was closest at hand, and the world didn't end so I guess it was okay, hahaha :)

Kershaw Tremor is just a tank for a cheap/inexpensive liner lock folder. Much more beefy than my Ontario Rat 1.

One time my friend was locked out of his truck and he needed to Jimmy open the back window so I handed him the Kershaw Tremor and the back window slided open with no damage to my Tremor. That's one of the main reasons I purchased a 2nd Tremor.

Too bad they were discontinued. I hope Kershaw brings em back because a lot of their new folders suck and none of them even have a 4 inch blade like the Tremor does.

I also abused my first Tremor many times while drunk, we used it as a throwing knife and threw it at trees and no damage was done to the knife.

My favorite inexpensive knife is the Spyderco Tenacious. I have carried this one in the past but I don't carry it these days because I have so many other nive knives to carry.

Cost doesn't come into it. there are a lot of knives worse than an opinel that are far more expensive. I'll carry a 1$ knife if I think its good enough to do the job I'll need it to do.

I often carry a Buck 371 Stockman, made in China, black/blue G10 scales. Picked it up for $9 on clearance.

I EDC'd a Gerber LST for a couple of years back when Gerber made decent knives. Still have it.

Cheapest knife I some days carry (regular rotation) was an Opi 8. Wait, Cheapest is a Kabar Snody Administrator at $8, the #8 I think was like $12. And a Mora 511 was like $10. And I have a lot of used slip joints (Camillus are my favs, but Sabre, unknown, Imperial, SAK, Schrade) at sub $10.
As far as can handle anything life throws at you? Becker Eskabar that I bought for like $35. You can't break that thing bare handed. I actually happily used a brick to baton it, and it lost some coating. I'd be hard pressed to believe any folder would have taken that abuse, no matter the price.

Cheapest knife I ever carry is a CRKT M16. The knife is rock solid and can be had for less than $50. I know that's a lot more than all the other knives I've seen here... but I have seen many, many failures in a lot of the knives that are listed here. Please don't hate me.

...a knife that despite the fact of being cheap (or better inexpensive), you are not afraid to carry in your pocket because it would be able to perform each task of your day no problems?

If I'm honest, a $5 folding razor knife with a $0.40 carbide edge blade would handle all my daily tasks pretty easily.

91mm Victorinox. There is almost always one in my pocket.

In a scenario where a least expensive main folder must be selected, the Ontario Rat I would get the nod. Best bang-for-buck one hand opener, imo, and much more knife than lockbacks twice the price.
