What is the best edc knife under $30?

I would say no based on boths reputations but own none of them. But for $10 difference buy the one you want.
 
Does anyone know of a good deal anywhere on the mini recon 1? I found it for about $39 on amazon (including shipping).

No, it is the size of the entire knife. Think Rat 2 is a Rat 1 at about 70% or so. The Rat 1 to me feels like a great knife. Perfect size for my hand. Maybe even a tooooch small. The Rat 2 feels like a toy. Way too small for me, but my wife loves hers.

If you gave smaller hands definitely go with the Rat 2. Like a larger knife? Go w the Rat 1.

If you're looking on that site, you're not looking hard enough. I just now saw them for $32 and change....

about $30 new, my favorite EDC. Ive paid about $10 more and have gotten the "pro" version of the knife with G10 scales and s30v steel blades. But that was either 2nd hand new or like new from the exchange or auction sites. I will say the CNC g10 scales do feel classy in hand

Go to the exchange. There is a section for knives for sale by dealer and there is a sticky posted by a moderator with current list of current dealers. And as Marcinek has pointed out prices, where to buy etc is all covered in the Blade Forum Rules. You really need to take some time and familiarize yourself with this Forum before starting new threads and asking questions that moderators have posted stickies that answer your questions. As pointed out the search function is your friend here, use it. One of your threads ask, "what members EDC", I typed EDC in the search function and got 40 pages of threads with hundreds of responses. This will get you far more responses and excellent ideas from forum members with all types of knives at varying price points.

I'm a Vantage fan as well. The "force" models have a little different blade shape which changes the ergonomics for the better in my opinion. I'm carrying a large Vantage Select Force today. Plus, Made in the USA.
