What is the best Fixed blade?

This question could ensue a long tedious argument so I'll make it simple, what I consider a top of the line fixed blade to be is a blade capable of being a multipurpose tool and the quality inspires such confidence in the makers that they are willing to put a lifetime warranty for the knife to be used as a pry bar. The only blade that I've ever actually seen that fits this description is a Kukri from Himalayan imports but I'm sure someone knows of another knife out there that can fit that standard.

My favorites are Tops BOB, Ontario TAK 1, Cold Steel SRK, SOG Seal Pup Elite...

Sharpened prybars? Becker BK2 or ESEE 5

Look at the Strider line of fixed blades and some of the videos that they're put through

I just now looked at the strider line because I haven't even heard of them till now and I have to say If i had that much money to spend I would just buy a Himalayan Imports Kukri but my budget only runs about to about 120$.

Guys will tell you that a knife should not be used as a pry bar.

Hopefully we can bypass this dispute and people will just answer your question to the best of their ability.

Here's my attempt.

Ontario SP8 if you don't need a classic design.

IMO Buck has the best warranty even if you abuse the knife in ways you shouldn't. But they really don't make sharpened pry bars like Tops, Becker, Ontario..

Heres a pic of the Buck Punk but I would never pry with mine. However, if I did and broke it, I am confident they would replace it no questions asked.

Sharpened prybars? Becker BK2

Agreed!

What is Kraton exactly, I've never held anything with that material before so is it like plastic or rubber or something?

The Tops Pry Bar Knife comes to mind! The next closest thing is the ESEE 5, Becker 2 or Becker 3!

You want a multi tool, that being a pry bar, and a knife. Assume you want both to be tops at their tasks. Expierence has shown me personally that most multi tools do nothing very well. But they do a passable job or soo soo job. Also they tend to fail when you push their intended limits.

I had two Gerger Multi Tools when I drove over the road, one never lasted over 3 months woithout breaking. Wal-mart always replaced the broken one under their 90 day return policy. Plyer broke the most, the reason for the back it, it was put into service until I found a Wal-mart to replace the broken one.

Kraton is a moderately priced polymer that is comfortable and used on a lot of famous knives by Kabar, Ontario, Cold Steel and others. I have never had an issue with it but some of the softer versions won't last forever under very hard use.

Its very obvious you looking for the $14 Mora Robust, otherwise Fisker axe around $25.

My vote is for the DPX HEST original which actually has a pry bar at the end of the handle. The knife has a 3.125" blade, and is 7.63" overall. It also has a bottle opener on the back of the blade.

Maybe I should have said something better than multipurpose tool. What I mean by "multipurpose tool" is a knife capable of doing a variety of tasks as i said before the knife I use as a standard is the hand forged Kukris of Napal that are used as everyday tools there for just about everything from farming to hunting, That's what I meant by a multipurpose tool.

Lots of good suggestions so far, I'll second the TGLB, and add all Busse and kin.

I should clear a few things up. First my budget is 120$ but that's something I can change if I find something that I know I'll be satisfied with no matter what, and Second I'm not specifically looking for a farming tool I simply mentioned farming because that is one of the main things the Napal Kukris are used for in that country sense they're tools that are used in a variety of ways in everyday life.

OP needed it to be under $120, wish I could get a TGLB or any Busse for that much...

You're recommending shovels from China with links to AliExpress and your correcting Aias for recommending a great knife that is over budget? Get a clue Mr. Wong!
