At the moment I am thinking of these knives, some I own some I don't.

Blue Delica
Woody small Sebi
Camillus 154CM/ Talonite EDC
Spyderco Native
SAK!

Any others? Clip prefered.

General, How about a Spyderco Lum Chinese folder, that is friendly looking.

How about a mini-UDT? Hmmm maybe not.
A Kershaw Mini-Task? Probably not a good idea.
I know, a Spyderco Matriarch!

I'm no good at this game.

General, since you are in England and lockblades and "flick" knives are a no-no, I recommend a slip joint folder or a Leatherman style multitool. If you get a slip joint folder, I recommend an SAK or some sort of similar utilty style folder. Queen makes the Robeson utility folder in ATS-34. EKA makes the Swede 90 in Sandvik 12C27. I don't think that clips or locks are good for you unless you want something very small like under 2".

Hmmm a Lum folder eh? I will look at that but I want to keep the blade as near to 3" as possible as most people in the UK are aware that a 3" blade is legal (even though it cannot have a lock... unless you can justify its use i.e. work! In which case any size is legal! But I want to avoid scaring people).

I have a Matriarch... I harvest mushrooms don't you know:D

I just got a Benchmade 450 (Park Avenue) today. I recommend it highly for office situations. The blade length is approximately 2-5/8 inches long. In the tradition of a SAK spearpoint, it is only 1/2 inch at its tallest point and unlike a SAK, it has a saber grind with a dropped spear point (or modified Wharcliffe per the advertising).

154 CM steel and razor sharp. It has a very non-threatening look, and the boron coating is transparent, which means it does not look black. You may or may not like the little chain clip, but it is nearly invisible. Does not allow for a quick defensive draw, but I doubt you would want that with a knife like this.

Ant, the lock issue is not such a big thing as long as the blade is around 3" and does not scare people. As I will be in a position of responsability I will prety much be able to chose what I carry and will have a valid excuse for carry. Thus I could carry my Cold Steel Vaq Grande legaly! However I don't want some sheeple under my reporting me to head orafice for carrying a 'big killing knife' and getting me sacked. The other option is not to carry:eek: :barf: :barf: !

I like the look of the Blue delica as it won't frighten, the small wood Sebi just looks so...cool and sexy that who could be scare of it? :D :D

Architect, hmmm interesting choice. How is the QC on this little knife? I was also thinking about a small 690? I have to admit though Benchmade are not my company of the year at the moment.

My new favorite is a benchmade 835 in M2 carbon steel, although i hope to have the talonite EDC as a companion by the end of the week!:)

I`d recommend using your car keys, like the rest of the non-knife carrying population does.

why not get some sheeple friendly Spyderco toys?
I'd say the SS Dragonfly(ATS-55), is about as sheeple friendly as they get... or how about a Dyad Jr?

I've never gotten even a backward glance because of my Camillus EDC, unless of course somebody was admiring it. :)

How about a Kershaw Chive? It flicks, though, with a torsion spring of some sort, so it may not be legal in the U.K. If it is, though, I strongly suggest it. If you don't flick it at people in a "threatening" manner, it's a cute little knife. Frame-lock, I don't know if that affects legality either.

Asha'man

I'd be the second or third to mention the Lum Chinese.

It is 1/3 of my EDC combo and has yet to get a glance from anyone in the outside world. LA county seems to have the same 3" limit and zero comments on it so far. I think the blade shape is deceiving as well. It certainly does not look as big as my 7A, but it is actually bigger.

Second choice would be a tie with the the Blue Delica and an Emerson CQC7A. The 7A may look a little tougher and is certainly a stronger knife (flamesuit on) but it is 2X the cost of the Delica (at least here). Good luck with your shopping!

Stay Safe

Duhhhh...That should have been a "Mini" 7A not a full sized one. What a dope! :o

Seriously though, if someone can tell the difference between 3.187 and 3.000 blade from 10 feet away ...I'd worry!
