What is the holy trinity of knives?

If we actually consider the concept of the holy trinity (one entity, three beings/forms), rather than random favorites, the answer that immediately comes to mind is KAI - Kershaw, ZT, and Shun

I'm not sure I understand the criteria. Is this just what I think subjectively? Best selling? Most durable? Most popular to talk about online?

Web search lists:
Victorinox
Benchmade
Kershaw
Buck

Yeah that's 4, but that's what came up.

I'd exclude Victorinox, but that's just my opinion.

But the old Marble's knives are my favorite.

Interesting timing. I just read that the reason the Irish use the shamrock as a symbol is because St. Patrick used it to teach the concept of the Holy Trinity.

The three are distinctly separate yet also one.

So the holy trinity concept doesn’t work for knives or bows. Three competitors are always distinct separate and never join as one.

For a non religious example:

The Cajun Holy Trinity in cooking is a 1:1:1 ratio of Bell peppers, onion,& celery. Distinctly separate yet become one when they are cooked down together but still retain their own personality.

my answers to the OP:

fixed blade
Buck
Randall
KA-BAR

folders
Leatherman
Buck
Case

Happy St. Patrick’s day everyone!

Best selling brands? Judging from what my non knife people (sheeples) buy, it's easily Kershaw Gerber and Victorinox, with Schrade and Case pretty close.

I own more Spydercos, then Civivi/WE then Benchmades. Everything else is a few piece here and there.

Just from the top three sellers, good quality and affordable, and longevity would be Buck, Victoronix and Mora. With a honorable mention for Case. I think that was the OP's intent.

I wanted to add a thought which already has been alluded to with the religious reference, the concept of a trio uniting as one. To me this sounds a lot like the Nessmuk Trio concept, what set of tools would make up the best team. We know what Nessmuk used, and it has been debated in ad nauseam what makes up that trio to others, it is a cool concept, but only wanted to mention it. Just for fun. Sorry, to get off topic.

Bob Dozier, Tony Bose and A.G. Russell.
That's more a holy trinity of knife "designers". But you get my drift. And all of their collabs or models are quite available....

Cold Steel, Kershaw, and SOG. Those are the three brands that I own the most. I have not experienced any failures with them. Your mileage may vary.
