What is the most valuable, arguably the best model ever produced for each brands/makers in your opinion?

Emerson = Roadhouse
Spyderco = Military
Busse = TGLB
Swamprat = Ratmandu
ZT = 0560
Strider = SJ75s

Best ZT has ever produced is the 0562cf in my opinion. Hits all the marks for me. Carbon fiber, titanium frame lock, steel lock bar insert, ball bearings, 3.5 blade in a super steel and a deep carry clip.

Have you ever actually handled one of Cold Steel's higher-end knives? When did you develop the ability to see into the future?
Not everyone can afford to waste their money on overpriced status symbols.

Al Mar--SERE 2000
Benchmade--710 (Although the Axis Stryker family has become my most frequently carried)
Buck--110 (Still the grandaddy of modern folders, IMO)
CRK--Sebenza (Large and Small)
Emerson--CQC7(A or B)
Spyderco--Original Gayle Bradley folder (With a nod to the Delica and Endura)
ZT--0550

hermit dave,
Everything they have ever made or ever will is [poo]

I think he is just channeling Steve Jobs.

Ha, ha
I kind of know what he means though.
I have no business listing knives in this thread so I am not going to try. I don't have the scope that these other guys have with so many makers.
I let the thread build up before I took a gander.
I was kind of hoping for some photos.

As far as the Griptillian I was hoping for not only a specific year/version but a photo. I am thinking Ritter but I don't have one yet but want one.

Back to Cold Steel . . . I think the key word here is "Masterpiece". I have several lower end Cold Steels but all of them have the high tech particle steels so I didn't totally cheep out. Every one had some kind of issue. Usually fairly minor but nothing close to a MASTERPIECE in design OR in execution. Either the pocket clip was woefully inadequate compared to a direct competitor, or the blade releases would not release comfortably like a nicely made device should and most recently BOTH blades of a two blade folder . . . the edges crash into the springs inside the knife and leave FLAT SPOTS on the sharp edges of the blades.
So
Mr. Dean Crail has some solid ground to stand on in my view.
I won't stop buying from Cold Steel but I will always be sure I get a less than MSRP price so I don't feel put out when I have to finish their work for them. To be fair most brands of tools and things I find that to be SNAFU these days compared to even as little as ten years ago.

I'm assuming you've owned every cold steel ever created huh? :foot:

I think alot of you are confusing masterpiece with flagship. I'd say a Masterpiece design is able to stand the test of time.

Delica, Leek, Grip, Sebenza 21, SNG, 110, Cadet, Trapper

I think you hit the nail on the head, big difference between flagship and masterpiece.

I don't think any production company makes a masterpiece, I have a lot of incredible knives from a huge spectrum of brands, but as far as a "masterpiece" , only one I've handled id use that term towards is the marfion dragon slayer 4.

I think some companies may have more than one masterpiece.

spyderoco: delica/endure, native, para2
benchmade: griptilian, 940/940-1
Kershaw: Liner Lock
buck: 110
victorinox: pioneer, cadet, swiss champ

Buck - the 110/119
Leatherman- the blast
Gerber- the gator
Case- the sodbuster Jr in cv
Shcrade - the 33OT stockman
Marbles - the ideal
Ka -bar - the mk2
Western - the black beauty no f48a
Victorinox - ( not a knife ) but their quatro screwdriver from the card light tool is the best screwdriver of its type ever made ( flat 4 headed key chain screwdrivers ) as it's the only one I've ever used that actually works.

Just going to pick folders for now for simplicity's sake (isn't that ironic?). Also only going to pick things I have experience with so as not to mislead others.

Buck: custom shoppe 110
Spyderco: Paramilitary 2
Cold Steel: Espada
Victorinox: SwissChamp
