My favorite high energy food is similar to "plumpy nut". I take 2 cups peanut butter, 1 cup powdered milk, 1 cup honey (can substitute any combo of molasses, corn syrup, maple syrup, sorgum, etc.) Mix together and your done.

Well I thought of that as well, but didn't think anyone would know what they were. When rendering pork fat for lard and making soap in northern New Mexico, it was the little chunks of meat and connective tissue at the bottom of the large cast iron pot. I finally learned years later that others called it cracklings. Not quite the porks skins sold today. I have been known to eat a bacon grease sandwich growing up. High energy food, better that starving. Was told it was good for you. Regards.
