What is the Most Expensiive Kinfe you have EVER purchased, and were you satisfied?

I'm with the lower end guys here....my personal most expensive blade was well under 300.00 for my Al Mar Smatchet...VERY pleased with it for what it is....

Most of my blades tend to hover in the 100 to 200 range...yes there are things I'd REALLY like to have outside that window, but I can't justify tieing up that much money in a single blade when there are still literally dozens of knives IN that cost window that I want just as badly...../shrug

I won't say what it cost, but I'm very very satisfied. It's a work of artistry and craftsmanship. and I have guns too.

I believe my most expensive blade was a Traditional Filipino Weapons Panabas, that was around $250 plus shipping. If we're talking strictly knives, and not swords and such, I guess my most expensive ones would be the Cold Steel Black Talon 2 and Spyderco S110V Manix 2, both of which were around $110 plus shipping.

With me, when I buy a blade, I want it to be functional, BUT, in most cases, there's a good chance I will never use the blade. So I won't go for some Gerber Bear Grylls Parang cause I don't trust the quality, but won't have second thoughts about getting the Condor Village Parang, even though I'm not actually likely to use a parang at all. So, provided I trust the manufacturer, many of my buys are simply cause I like the design, the look, the general feel of the blade, rather than any specific need. I And with that in mind I will point out that my tastes are different than many people's. If someone told me they were going to GIVE me either a Sebenza/Hinderer, or a Cold Steel Recon XL/Spyderco Tasman Salt, with the condition that I never sell or trade the blade, I wouldn't think twice, I'd get the Cold Steel or the Spyderco.

I'm new to the knife community, when I spent $50 on my first spyderco I thought that was a lot of money I've been at this now for around 2 months and 15 knives later all averaging around 100-150.somthing is telling me this is just the tip of the iceberg.my appetite is craving more higher end knives.please help!

My most expensive so far is an ESEE 5. Spent about $150 with sheath and the accessory pouch. I told my wife that it was cheaper to collect knives than guns so I better keep it that way...for a while anyway.;)

Yesterday, I bought six folders for $101. I've had my eyes on them for a while. I was getting tired of digging a folder out of my survival kit or my bug out bag to open a box or cut cord. I'll scatter them around the house so one is always handy.

I've yet to be completely satisfied by ANY knife. Especially by those over $250.

Brian Tighe mini Tighe Rod--Paid $425 for on the forums. The curvature of the handle and small size made it uncomfortable and unwieldy in my hands. I loved it, but it wasn't for me. Finally sold it after it sat for six months for I believe $390.

Strider SnG Black Lego S30V. $350 on the exchange, loved everything but the edge chipping. Sold for $300. Loved the in hand feel, and may own another SnG in a different steel someday.

Three Sisters Forge Beast--Cool knife, but has always had a lock rock issue. I sent it back to him, he messed with it, and said it would wear in. Never has. Still use it, but will probably sell it eventually. Bought new from the man himself for $300.

Chris Reeve large 21 bocote inlay Sebenza--Excellent knife, but too "slow" for me and my big crusty thumbs can't get a grip on the dang stud! Bought it and am selling it on the exchange for the same amount, $370

Funny, the knives I am most satisfied with are my Kizer Ki 423 and Southern Grind Spider Monkey. I'd gladly sell everything else.

My most expensive knife however is being designed currently, and will run me about $900-$1000. It will be worth it for symbolic if not functional reasons.

My Kizer Bad Dog designed by Matt Cucchiara with the engraved mini nukes. it is the most expensive knife i own but the highest quality and it flips like a dream thanks to the ceramic ball bearings. I CANT PUT IT DOWN!

My most expensive knife is currently a Crawford armored express, has jeweled and ano;d ti scales, super smooth, real cool knife, into it for 650 with no regrets, but I am definitely over spending big money on knives, anything in the 400 range really has to be something special.trying to stick to 250 or less now, although I did steal a frag talos for 275 on the exchange a few months ago...

Most expensive for me is the latest run of Chaves 228's. I'm not sure if I'm satisfied yet. I've carried it but not used it. It's pretty and cool so I think I'm going to keep it. I won't buy another folder that price anytime soon.

Fixed blade was from a BF maker and it was $380 I think. That one is complete satisfaction because it's a practical worker. I think I'll be using it until I gift it to the next generation. It gives me great pleasure every time I use it or even get it out. I look at it like a 4x4 truck: super expensive but when you're in a jam it's worth it.
