What is the most expensive knife you have gifted?

The knives in my avatar were Christmas presents. If you go back a few years you can probably find the thread.

I've given several customs to my father that I would consider "expensive", I have also given a set of hand-forged kitchen knives to my sister, those weren't cheap either.

The most expensive auto that I gave to a non-family member would probably be the Benchmade Rift I gave to a buddy. He's a big wall climber and I wanted him to have a "one hander" for emergencies.

Before we got married I gave my wife a custom mini grip off benchmades site. I let her make it and I bought it that was the most ive gifted. So far.

hands down the Buck 110 i got for my grandfather, about $500

why? because everything metal on the knife was Damascus steel and there was a gold inlay engraving of his hunting dog on 1 side and the other was the area that they hunted before she passed all in a display box i built just for that knife

I recommend gifting to enlisted deployed military or law enforcement officers. If you don't REALLY enjoy it, don't do it.

Gave my daughter a benchmade 47. I have gifted probably 10-12 knives through the years.

I gave a red Kershaw Skyline to my girlfriend, because she started getting interested in knives after me talking about them so much. Other than that though, I don't really know people that are into knives, so they wouldn't appreciate getting a blade as a gift.

I gave the best men (4) at my wedding a kershaw chive with their initials and the date engraved on them. I think that was the only knives I have given away except to my son and I just figure he will get them all one day anyway.

sweet dude! pass on the love man! lov it

It would have to be the carbon fiber Spyderco Chaparral that I gave to my father for his past birthday. I miss the crap out of that knife too.. But it's comforting knowing that he carries and uses it everyday. I even get to fondle it every now and then when he gives it to me for a sharpening.

That's a really great groomsman gift. I've seen some people do personalized Svord Peasants as groomsman gifts, and I thought that was a very interesting idea as well.

I gave an ex girlfriend my spyderco blue persistence that was a first 100, first 25 for that matter, because she was getting into knives from me

I did that once. I gave my Sebenza to the classmate of one of my kids. He was headed off to Navy boot camp, and was going to go for special forces.

He stuck the Sebbie in his back pocket, headed to the airport, and the TSA promptly removed it and threw it in the "trash" bin.

Charity has limits, I guess.......

No knives, but knife related stuff. I've gotten a friend of mine a Steel Flame clip for Christmas and I gifted him his membership to the Order of the Black Shamrock for his birthday.

Wait, I did give my Kershaw Blur to one of my exes.

I gave my dad a case Desk Knife with red bone handles and his name engraved on the blade. I bought it a a local store, and with engraving, came to about 200. I may have overpaid a bit, but it is on his desk every day and he uses it. To me, 200 is A LOT of money; I wish I had the funds to give blades to soldiers, and when I do, I will: one more reason to stay in school..
