What is the nicest knife for $100-$150??

The MOD Hornet would be a good using knife but, whether it has eye appeal or not depends on what you value.

For someone new to knives, an EDI Genesis is perhaps a better option as it is a thinner profile and doesn't look so tactical/military.

A real sleeper would be a Pete's custom shop BUCK 110 lockback. Last one I priced was $80 with BG-42 steel and fitted out with pretty wood.

The nicest knife in this price range up to date is BENCHMADE Model 940 Osborne.
Now it's position is threatened by coming SPYDERCO Frank Centofante Vesuvius.
Just my humble opinion

There are many custom makers out there who will make a small, neck knife or bird and trout size fixed blade for that price range. Kevin Cashen makes a utility series hunter for $95 with sheath. Forged, marquenched, flat ground 1084 or 1095, tapered tang and nice wood slabs bolted on. Check around, you can get a nice custom for that price range.

Naitive 2 good choice! Also how about an M2 AXIS lock from BM or a SPyderco Military.
