What is the ONE knife you most want...that doesn't even exist yet!

Oh, I just modified a picture of an Al Mar Eagle to what I want the most.
That legendary blade to weight ratio due to linerless Micarta combined with my preferred contoured handles with a Tri-Ad lock's fixed blade feel and an amazingly good cutting blade and premium steel would be one of the most desirable knives ever, not just for me, I'd think it'd fight with the knife community staples such as the Paramilitary 2.

Ok, wasn't familiar with Al Mar. Nice looking blades...why are they so obsessed with aus 8? I see why u want to make some changes...

And honyaki katana?! Had to google that one too! Getting educated on this thread. Nice!

This is a very easy one for me. A Sebenza 25 with a 21's bushing pivot system. And perhaps a Sebenza 25 with the old 4-pin Unmumzaan pivot - but I'd want there to only be one and it in my possession.

A Locksa that I could find and afford!

A MiniGrip with M390

That thinner bladed F1 sounds like a winner, too

Another suggestion is the very ZDP-189 Carbon Fiber Spyderco Stretch I already have with a compression lock instead of the lockback.

lockback folder with Oak or walnut grips 3.75 inch O-1 @ rc 61
W2 @ rc 61-62
10V/A11 class @ rc 63-64

CTS PD1 Millie @ rc 62
CTS-B75 Millie @ rc 62

The Cruwear and Super Blue knives coming out from Spyderco are already real but I am sure looking forward to them.

Its not Kabar brand but has a full tang and better steel with the same blade shape. It's almost six times the cost but who is counting ;)

I wouldn't call that "receiving", considering it also has a totally different handle, and a shorter blade. I don't know about Nutty Knife Nut, but when I say I want a Kabar, I want something that looks like a Kabar, not something with a shorter blade and the ugly handle of that Strider. IMO a better recommendation would be the Ontario SP1 Marine Combat Knife. Looks very similar to the Kraton-handled Kabar(if he wants a full tang one with the leather washers, though, he's out of luck), with the same materials, but full tang. Compare:

As for my answer to the OP, well...I really don't know. There's already so many knives I want in existence that I haven't really stopped to think about something I'd want that doesn't exist yet...maybe a folding karambit that doesn't run for $150+?

Chris Reeve with variety of other high-end steels like CTS-PD1, M390, XHP, S90V etc.

A G10 Victorinox Pioneer
A G10 Framelock/liner lock Spyderco Native 5
A chopper with 5160 and a 1 inch thick drop point blade with G10 handles

(I really like G10, can you tell?)

A production bowie in high carbon steel, 1/4 inch stock, 8.5-12 inch blade that comes with multiple carry options such and a dangler sheath with a removable strap for dundee carry and straps on the back for scout carry as well as one of those knob things so i could tuck it into my belt. Wooden handled

Pretty much right on. The only thing I'd add is make that handle coffin shaped!

Sounds like an Ontario SP10 Marine Raider Bowie with a custom sheath to me. :D 1/4" thick, dangler sheath. 9 3/4" blade. :D

I've always dreamed of something like this. It's purpose would be the ultimate knife balanced for EDC/camping/utility/everything:

  • 3 inch drop or spear point blade, 2.5 - 3 mm thick
  • Blade shape something like the Ritter Griptilian or Izula
  • 154cm, S30V, D2, or VG10 steel blade
  • High or full flat grind, stonewash finish
  • Gimping
  • Axis/Arc lock or lockback
  • Profiled, ergonomic G10 or Micarta scales. (Maybe aluminum?)
  • Titanium or skeletonized steel liners (Whatever is lightest/most cost effective)
  • 3.5 - 4.0 inch handle. Just enough to get a 4 finger grip, with your hand nearly or completely enclosing the grip. (The end does not extend far out of your hand)
  • Deep recessed choil, with a pronounced recurve in the handle profile. The handle is somewhat wide as to fill the hand, but not too thick for comfortable carry. Most similar handle I can think of would be the Spyderco Street Beat (Most important design element)
  • Thumbstuds. Possibly flipper too
  • Holes to screw in pocket clip for tip up on either side.
  • Comes with 2 clips: a normal one and another folded-over one for deep carry
  • Pocket clips are not a flat piece of metal, but the long sides are curved slightly downward. This is just for comfort when holding firmly
  • Lanyard hole
  • Weighs under 3 ounces
  • MSRP: $120 - $150

In addition to the above folder, or if the folder is not feasible, there would be a fixed blade version. It would be the same except:
  • Full & skeletonized tang.
  • No pocket clip
  • Blade is 3.5 - 4 mm thick
  • Handle scales would be slightly thicker
  • MSRP: $99 - $120

For a rough idea, try imagining a cross between a Street Beat, Izula, and Spyderco Enuff. The idea of this knife is to be a balance of weight, size, and most importantly ergonomics while maintaining maximum usability. The main objective is to have amazing ergos in a compact package. To be honest I don't know a ton about specifics like steel types, lock types, liner design, etc, but the main design element is the handle shape and overall shape. I've drawn basic designs for this knife and think it would work for me. But in reality it's probably a rubbish idea, since I'm not a knife designer or maker.
