What is the one knife you regret purchasing

I will pick just one form the KA-BAR Becker knives I have as stated although all came blemished in some manner and two were returned at my cost and replaced by KA-BAR with two other blemished knives.

The one KA-BAR Becker I regret the most is the BK9 as it is blemished with malformations of the steel on the spine and I do not trust it since reading and seeing the photos and video of its catastrophic shattered blade failures.

I feel burned by KA-BAR and I believe they should issue a postage free recall and replacement policy. This is KA-BAR's quality control problem not mine why should I pay shipping for their poor quality control problems.

It seems that whenever you get the chance you have to diss KA-BAR and tell your sob story. You should give it a rest. And if your so pissed off, why did you buy more then one of them? Wouldn't it make more sense to buy one and see how you like it and then by more later?

Knives I regret buying are Spyderco Paramilitary, BM Griptillian, and lastly RAT Izula. The only reason for my regret is because they didn't fit my hand well. I bought them either without ever handling one and going on the hype alone, or because they felt good in-hand at time of purchase but later found them uncomfortable after truly using them. I've learned my lesson to not buy a knife unless I can actually hold it and examine it for myself. Actually, I'm that way with almost everything I buy now.

CRK Professional Soldier. Just had to have *some* CRK but the Seb was yet out of my league.

Sold it at a very small loss. Awesome knife but I just won't buy any more knives I can't carry without getting arrested.

Seb is in the collection now - selling the PS made that easier on the wallet. ;)

You are way out of line. I ordered them all at once genius. Why don't you go be confrontational with you're family members as this wasn't a debate someone created the thread asking a question and I responded with the only knife problems I have which is with KA-BAR. Take it or leave it as it is. Another thing is if the Becker Forum Members hadn't complained so much I wouldn't have noticed all the malformations and broken blades. So why not go over to the Becker Forum and tell them to stop telling their sob stories and give it a rest? Get a clue get some fact. . .

Hmmmmmm, the only knife I can say I regret purchasing was my BM Auto Stryker. I had my heart set on having one and combed the country til I found one prior to my first deployment. I had lost my Microtec "Greg Lightfoot LCC" on a field exercise a few months earlier and felt that I needed a new auto to carry on my deployment. I quickly found that BM's coil spring just did not compare to the leaf spring design of the Microtec. After carrying the Auto Stryker for about a week, I sold it to a fellow soldier and ordered a standard BM Stryker which I have carried ever since.

Murph

Every post I've ever seen from you has been badmouthing the Ka-Bar Beckers. What were the "blemishes" the left such a bad taste in your mouth ?

SOG Flash 2 :thumbdn: Not a wise selection on my part. Also almost every Boker auto I own is a complete piece of garbage except for the AK-74's. They're not good autos, but they're way better than those Magnums. I knew nothing of quality autos when I bought them. I also regret buying a Large Griptilian with partial serrations. Those serrations chipped off so fast it was ridiculous.

I don't consider these few regrets to be bad considering all the other knives I own.

That's a good point Tony. I have a few other regrets that I didn't list originally, including a couple of Columbia Rivers and some of the BM red box models, but overall when you consider the total number of knives in my collection(which I won't mention here since my wife is nearby;)), I think I've done pretty well to have so few that I regret purchasing.

Check out the Becker Forum as many and I have malformations in the steel or bad grinds and or total failure in the case of the BK9. I also got a Dozier and it looked like a blind person grinded it. The thing that really irked me is when I sent two back and they sent me two more defective knives. Maybe its just me sobbing but it doesn't seem right, plus I had to pay the shipping one way.

You'll never convince me to just take it or that its alright, its wrong and if it happened to you, then I assume you wouldn't be pleased either.

I personally like Cold Steel products but you won't see me jumping on someone because they're complaining about Cold Steel if they have an issue such as I have with KA-BAR.

Just get the facts and you will see that what I say is true and that KA-BAR should do a recall on KA-BAR Becker knives and pay the shipping both ways as its their quality control problem not ours.

Okay, I'm sorry that I got all upset about your post. In all honesty, I have gone through 2 KA-BAR dozier folders that broke. While I'll admit that I am not overly impressed with KA-BAR in general. I tend to give the people the benefit of the doubt that they are good knives. The reason I posted was just that I have noticed that you seem to rant alot about how you got some bad knives, maybe just a bit excessively. I have gone through many folders that were simply not manufactured right. (over 6 benchmade folders believe it or not) and i got over it. Heck, I still buy benchmades. :)

And to stay on topic, My Benchmade Mini-Ambush. I have no idea why I bought one when I already have 2 mini grips, its basicly just a downgrade.

Did you have a failure with a BK9 ? Or are you using someone else personal experince to base your opinion ?

Wilson Tactical fixed blade, I have big hands but this handle is for a child and so are all the other WT handles small. I had it on ebay for about 6 months, finally shipped it off to Israel. The main beef is they include in their handle measurement spec the exposed metal tang at the end of the knife thereby making the handle seem 1/2 inch or so longer than it really is, however that section not usable as a gripping surface you over-charging idiots! Not a bad knife if you have small hands but not worth $325 any day of the week. ;)

Strider sng , hands down biggest regret. After carrying and using I figuared out nothing on it is better than my high end production knives exept the lock and the design is absolutely terrible for a knife to spend alot of time using , plus it snags on everything.

I do not trust the KA-BAR Becker BK9 based on the malformations in the steel of mine and the based on the failure of others. My father got it for me wholesale so I plan to sell it soon enough to a fanboy for a profit ; )
