I started with a 12 X 24, then added 8 X 24 on it in an "L" shape.

I started on my back porch about a year ago, now I am setup in my 20x20 garage, of which I use about 3/4.And I have a very supportive wife, which is a huge plus!!

All my stuff currently sits in a 40x60 foot shop which is 2400 square feet. Of course, about half of that is used to store my wife's "things", so that knocks it down to around 1200 square feet. And, at the new house we're finishing up, I'll actually be moving into a 15x18 foot shop which puts it around 270 square feet. That means I need to consolidate some of my crap and squish it into a smaller space :D. But I'm excited about having the shop right at the back of the house vs. having to hop in the truck and drive to the shop. Maybe that will actually let me get into the shop and make something (haven't completed a knife in over a year).

I have a 20 by 40 and an overhang for the press, power hammer and forge. I would love more space. I also have wood working tools oh and yes a regulation size pool table. I feel luck to have a shop like this. For years it was a 2 car garage. Terry Primos had a shop that was about 12 x 12. He made some fine blades in that shop. Its not the size that matters but its nice to have. I think Johnny Warner's shop is over 1,500 sq. ft. Plus he has a 3 car garage attatched to the shop and another 2 or 3 car garage attatched to the house.

I have a 30X40 shop. I share it with all of my toys and tools. Right now it contains enough wood working equipment for a small cabinet shop (needs to go), 2 ATV's, one street rod, 3 welders, plasma, torch and a home brew setup. Plus my knife equipment. But no pool table! No lawn mowers, garden stuff and most importantly, no wife's stuff. Nothing but things I want in there. I AM spoiled. :D
